  1. rats, I actually don't have the EJ car anymore I just pulled the motor out of it never bought the whole thing. Guess I'll have to go hit up the JY.
  2. what paint is that? I was looking at doing my wagon in the rustolium semi black textured stuff. which I think is something like that.
  3. I've got a grinder and a welder what else do I need ? I really just need to know where I should put it / cut to put it
  4. I was told my PS lines would just bolt up to eachother so I didn't give them a second thought. Sadly they don't they are both male and with no female I don't see how thats gonna work http://toshcari.googlepages.com/IMG_0588.JPG also as far as installing my EJ22 radiator should I go to town on the frame rail there with the grinder ? or do I weld on some kind of lip on the motor side of it ? http://toshcari.googlepages.com/IMG_0589.JPG thanks again guys.
  5. anyone know where I can find a pinout of my stock EA82T GL-10 wiring ? so I know what wires to connect to the ones in the handy dandy list pisces_0 gave me ?
  6. stock rad is clogged worse then you can imagine the radiator shop I took it to wanted $50 just to "take a look at it" of corse this was after 4 days and I had already given them the radiator to "look at" IE its not worth $50 to get a broken radiator back so I told them to f off. and I just so happen to have an EJ22e radiator right here. so Its gonna have to work.
  7. Wiring harness is done (except for the alternator stuff and running my own power wires) Belts and gaskets are all swapped around. My adapter plate is in the mail and everything else is "good to go" anyone have any sugestions on the best way to install a EJ22e radiator in my GL-10 wagon ? also any hints on fan mounting would be a big + thanks guys:D
  8. would i still have any problems getting up and going when i have it in 4wd mode? does anyone have a vac diagram for the pushbutton trans mine wasn't working last time I had it running.
  9. on a scale of 1-10 how bad would it be running a Ej22e with the pushbutton transmission ? I've found a FTAWD one but it comes with a whole car that I'd have to "do" something with.
  10. tcu wires = removable ? and if those aren't them then which ARE the wires for the gauge cluster ?
  11. ugg I accidently cut the big shielded wire for my o2 sensor. I stripped it down soldered the shielded wire back together and connected the core wire up hopefully that will be good. things are stripping away fast now. the big black wire with a red stripe that goes to my fuel pump relay do I leave that long and send it back down to my fuel pump when I put everything back together? I'm having troubble figuring out which wires are the ones i need for my dash (check engine, oil, tach, speed, temp, etc) these are the plugs that go to the EJ22 dash harness right ? anyone know where I can get a pinout ?
  12. sweet thanks man I wasn't sure if any of the relays over there where needed but I guess I only need those 2 (ignition/fuel) relays so if its overthere then bye bye. so I don't need my ecu to control any of my ea82 heat/defrost stuff ?
  13. sweet thanks guys! since I'm not using AC or cruise controll all of the plugs over on that side (passenger) of the EJ harness can also be removed too right ? only reason I wanted to cut out some of the EA stuff was to clean up the area around the battery a bit where all the engine plugs are for my EA82 harness. ugg I just wish I had the $$ for my adapter plate and transmission now.
  14. Sweet thanks for saving my bacon. what about my old 2 plug EA engine wires ? can I pull those with the ecu ? I was just trying to figure out how I was gonna fit all the ej wires with that in the way
  15. also something that I haven't been able to find out anywhere how much/if any of my STOCK wiring do i remove ? ie do I just leave everything as is and just add in the ej control stuff ? or do I need to pull my stock ecu.
  16. so I may of forgotten to label my o2 sensor wire/plug when I unhooked it from the hanress and I MAY of cut off the plug for it if so can anyone tell me what color the o2 wires/wire would be or what the plug looks like (i was smart and have been saving all my cut plugs) OR if I'm really really lucky could you tell me if its one of these plugs that I DO have left. also do I have this plugged in right do all 3 of those plugs that ARE pluged in come in threw the hole in the middle of the firewall ? or does one of them come from the fender area harness? (the one thats not plugged in, in my hand, is from the fender harness) thanks a ton in advance guys. also if I'm understanding my wiring diagrams and whatnot correctly. Everything that comes in that middle firewall grommet and then goes to the passenger side of the car. IS removable as in its all heater plugs and what not.
  17. I'm guessing hes using "bars" (cause he's international) 1 bar = 14.5037738 psi So my guess is hes getting somewhere around 7psi. I'd check the t-stat just to be safe.
  18. so is the total cost of adapter + shipping $310 ??
  19. PB all around it loosten all the bolts put the pipe in a vice and wack it with a mallet. thats what I did, then again I didn't really plan on using that turbo ever again
  20. Hi, my name is tosh and I own a 87 GL-10. I'm also a member of the Td04 club kind of (I'm a quitter word) and the "why wont this damn thing start". My first subaru was a 84 or 83 Gen 1 that I got for free. It had been sitting in a barn for over 6 years. My other car had just been nailed outside my house by a hit and run driver and I had no way to go to work, so the rusty yellow 2wd gen 1 wagon became my DD (we named it "Yellow warthog" man I miss halo 1 days). Anyway thats where I learned how to work on cars. I still think carburetors take some kind of vodoo magic to tune. But I love my 87 wagon, even if I am trying to swap in a new gen motor
  21. ha by far man for sure. I just got accepted into the fire department down there mainly because my grandpa works for it
  22. I'm in the Olympia wa area. I need the car running up here before I move down there though
  23. also here is the "sale" for most of my ea82/td04 stuff. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=77194
  24. Well not really bad just "ut oh" Good news. I got accepted into the fire department down in st george utah (about 2 hours east of vegas ) bad news My ea82t has a blown head gasket and I don't have the $$ to build it. I don't have unlimited funds but I'd really like to get an EJ22 in there. I have to be THERE by the end of august so I need to at least have the car swapped and running sometime around mid august which gives me a little more then a month. I need to get some money (payday is friday!) and find a donor car. If anyone has one or knows of one for CHEAP let me know. I'd prefer it to be mechanically sound so "decent" milage and no motor/trans problems. I'd also REALLY like a 5 speed. Anyone around the Olympia area that can help me do some wrenching would also be great. How hard is it to swap in the EJ22's AC system ? its gonna be bloody hot down there.
