  1. Success! Both Loyales made it alive and well. Here's their stats: 94 Wagon in 40 hours 3 minutes. Avg speed: 72.4 mph. 136 gallons of gas and 14 quarts of oil. 91 Sedan in 46 hours 41 minutes. Avg speed: 62.2 mph. 129 gallons of gas and 4 quarts of oil. Lost its muffler in Wyoming. The winner was a 1992 Volvo 740 at 37 hours and 58 minutes. We'll get them next year! Photos and more info to come! Thanks for your support.
  2. That's our actual 156,000 mile, one owner car. Got the original window sticker and all records since new when we bought it for $1000.
  3. Keeping the spare. 10lbs isn't worth the time lost waiting for the tow truck. Actually keeping the old wagon relatively stock. Pumping up the tires 7lbs over recommended pressure. Adding some driving lights. Bobble-head pirate on the dashboard. Already has a rear disc brake conversion. Putting the back seat down so one can sleep while two are in the front and then there has to be room for 2 days worth of food. Our 5-speed wagon will definitely be faster than the automatic sedan, that's for sure! The key to the race is how fast we can pump the gas and go the bathroom !
  4. Our 94 Loyale 4x4 wagon and another teams 91 Loyale sedan are about to undertake The 2904, Transcontinental Motorized Vehicular Tournament of Efficiency and Endurance! The rules of the race are to cover the 2904 miles from New York to San Francisco as fast as possible for under $2904 dollars. The budget includes the car, fuel, tickets and whatever you need to do to the car to get it ready. The start is this Saturday and we will report back with details! May the best Subaru win (or at least beat the Volvos and what ever else shows up to race) Cheers, John
  5. Hello, We’re from Creative Film Cars in Manhattan. We are the Northeast’s premier provider of vehicles for film, television, fashion shoots, magazines and events. We are looking for some over the top tuner cars for a print photo shoot taking place on September 6th in New York City. This is a static shoot for major client for a national print ad, and no driving will be required. You will be compensated for your time and the rental, and your vehicle will be fully insured for the duration of the shoot. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 212-864-4060 if you are interested in participating, and we will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. To describe more fully what we do: First, we act as an agent for your vehicle. You supply us with a few photos and we put them in front of our hundreds of clients, and on our online database. When a client selects your ride, we contact you immediately, see if you’re interested, and send you a contract. In most cases no driving will be required. They just have to look the part. You will be paid for the rental and your time. Second, we act as a caretaker. As a fully licensed and insured company, your car is safe and covered with a one million dollar policy. A CFC representative will attend every shoot to guarantee that everything goes smoothly. At the shoot, you are welcome to stay with your vehicle to ensure that it is treated in the manner, and with the respect it deserves. Location, length of shoot, and use of vehicle are among the factors that determine payment. The moment the shoot is completed you get a check in your hand. Now wasn't that easy? Additional benefits are increasing the vehicles provenance, value, possible tax write-offs, and seeing your vehicles in print or on film. Go to http://www.creativefilmcars.com/submit.htm and submit your vehicle. It's really pretty simple. It costs nothing to be listed with our company and your information is protected and will never be shared with anyone. Ever. For more info give us a call at 212-864-4060 and we will take the time to answer any of your questions, or go to http://www.creativefilmcars.com/ . Thank you, Donald and John Creative Film Cars
  6. Do you need to change the brake bias when you go to discs? I would imagine that it would increase the braking in the rear. No?
  7. Just put on new tires and realized I need new brakes all the way around. The rear drums are expensive. Would it be cheaper and better in the long run to convert to discs. Can I do so on a 94 4x4 Loyale Wagon? Recommendation on good places to order parts? Thanks!
  8. Had the tires fitted and they are great! What a improvement. Highly recommend anyone still running the stock 165/80R13 to switch post haste! Better handling and no real change in the speedo. Perfect. I'll let you know how the Kumho's are in the long run.
  9. Someone smashed our driver's door mirror on the 94 Loyale Wagon. Anyone know where we can get a new one online? Just need the mirror, not the whole assembly. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for all the feedback. A set of 185/70SR-13 Kumho Touring A/S 795 are on there way from Tire Rack. Can't sneeze at $34 each! I let you know how they perform in New York potholes!
  11. We have a 1994 4x4 Loyale wagon with 165/80R13 on it. Does anyone know if 185/70R70 would have a problem fitting? They have approximately the same rolling circumference. (http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi) It is the width I am worried about. For some reason the 4x4 have taller, narrower tires. Any one know the reason?
