New GL10, Shooting for high 14's?
testy replied to crazy_squirrels's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Dude, 350 at the wheels on a stock bottem end isnt hard to acheive. start with a low mileage bottom end. Delta cams in some light ported SOHC heads. STI injectors and fuel rail. Piggy bag ECU. Turbo off an STI. A good 3" exhaust all the way through. Run yourself at like 14 psi very reliably. Ad an intercooler, nothing fancy. The ej22T is the best motor produced by subaru imo. -

I ran my XT turbo at 16psi daily all stock haha. Never tracked it but felt like 15ish as long as the intake stayed ontop of the motor. A couple times pressure got so high in the intake it blew the plentiff off the motor and popped up my hood. I didnt do any of this on purpose, the wastegate was corroded and seized up. -
Ya I gave up on the rest. The Beast I Drive on the board here is making me a sweet 6" lift. Ive learned im not a fab guy.

Nice. Just send me a PM when you want money.

Is that what mine is gonna look like?

since its on a buggy, make sure you weld the peices together. You should also consider some seem welding if you havent already.

Go with a 15 inch alloy pug. I could find you a set if you wanted to buy from canada like tomorrow. -
Call a peugeot guy and ask. There is at least one in every major city. Or go 505 pugs.

Why not a leggy with AWD?

haha, last time I made a thread about cat converters it got pretty gnarly.

I had the same problem on the left front of my car. I split a CV boot and all the grease sprayed all over. Then it started creaking. Then the outer wheel bearing went. I never found out how to fix it as I sold the car as is. But symptons were the same. That castle nut was always coming loose. Im thinking because of excess heat changing the thread size slightly and the road bumps jaring it loose.

I just got some steel pipe. Welded the 5 3/4" section of steel pipe to the top of the strut. Welded the a 1/4 steel plate with the 3 holes at a 42mm offset. Now I gotta block the engine/trans down and extend the steering shaft.
-
blocks easy, diff easy. Thanks for the numbers though. Is there a simple way to construct the 6" rear strut extensions?
-
Whats the easiest way to build a 6" rear ea82 lift? Ive pretty much got the front down.
-
My old mechanic had one of those. It was a complete ea81 running gear bolted to a customs chassis. Pretty sick.
