  1. the few mm's watever is moving is not taking any signifacant initial torque from your car. its milleseconds you cant possible be aware off.
  2. Haha, I dont even know how to pull the axles out.
  3. I feel like a fool for asking. But im a true nooby at this. Is there a guide with some pictures on how to do this. Or discriptions. I think this could be really cool to do with my car since its just a beater. thanks alot.
  4. I have another question. I want to drive my car day to day with rwd. in traffic, and on the highway. Want it for drifting, fun, you know, smoke show. But is the gearing different? will I be able to go 70mph on the highway? thanks.
  5. If you do the rear wheel drive conversion. And have it in 4wd like said. Do you lose any power like you lose when your in 4wd.
  6. [threadjack] Suberdave > > How did you put that hood scoop on the gl on your website. Thanks dude! [/threadjack]
  7. ok, theres no crunchy sounds, that was something else. there is vibrations when i turn the car, and it is no a higher pitch squeling noise. Kinda like wet shoes twisting on venolium, but repeditive and faster.
  8. cool thanks. I have plans to replace fuel filter. How to I depressurize the system? Air filter I regularly replace every 2 months because its gross around here and my airbox is cut open. If I was gonna do an engine swap, id just instead go out and find me a Legacy Sedan with turbo. Hot car!
  9. 1. Grinding, crunchy, rubbing, vibrations, quite loud, faster as i accelerate sounds. Where on the axle is that kind of problem? 2. spfi.
  10. Ok thanks, Ill keep to generic plugs, but i want better wires. If not for a smoother running car for the look that a bunch of blue or red wires will give my engine area haha. Dont think any of it has been changed so why not now
  11. 1. How do I change the front wheel bearing in my 91 Loyale without braking my car. 2. When I start my engine in the morning it revs to 2000rpms. I touch the gas and it drops to like 1500rpms then it starts to plumet until it stalls unless I hit the gas again. The oil pressure also gos to like 60psi untill the car warms up and then its normal (normal= 10-15psi for 1500 rpms / around 45psi for normal driving). Is there something wrong here? Thanks alot guys. I know my questions might be silly but this board is teaching me alot about cars.
  12. whats the best brand and model for an ea82. After learning an ECU isnt a great thing to do ill spend the money on stuff like that. Ive heard that preformance spark plugs and the like dont necisarly work as good as the regular ones. Whos got the best stuff, or should i just go generic on it all. Same with the leads wire thingers, should i replace them with new stock versions or go to a bigger more powerful wire?
  13. ive got no clue what you just said.
  14. rwd convert? if that doesnt help you do better you can always do a sweet smoke show.
  15. is there a web site. Google searched it and just got a bunch of porn. also, is there any other options for the car. I went on AEM website and they only have it for the impreza.
  16. I have a friend who has the gear to build me an ECU and hes out of work with a bad back so hes bored. I was wondering if anyone has done this for their loyales and if its even possible. I have a regular 1991 Subaru Loyale, EA82. Is there a website I can find blank ECUs at or is there a place I can get a pre-programmed ECU. I want my car to be faster and I have some money to burn but no skills. thanks alot.
  17. Somewhere on my left front end there are some wicked and loud grinding sounds that randomely sound. There is nothing stuck in there and the rotor is not rubbing. Also when Im traveling at highway speeds (40mph +) and am on a corner there is a grinding/friction sound and feeling coming from the left front end. I have no clue what to look for under the car so im pleading for help. I also have to periodically tighten the nut (with the cotter pin) on the hub because it comes loose. The grinding sound isnt a solid sound, it does not last the entire rotation of the wheel. And I know its due to spinning becuase the (pulsing) grinding sound gets faster as I pick up speed. Then It might disapear all together. It is really quite loud too, easily heard over engine noise. Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot, i hate when my car makes weird loud sounds.
  18. on your site you have a rubber flap on the bottom of your car. Can you please explain what it does. I tried to read it, but I have no clue what you were talking about. PS. that grill looks cool with the slots, didnt really like the holes.
  19. I replaced my battery. She started right up. Im letting it sit for an hour or so and then ill check it again
