  1. I'll take a stab at the last one...if the engines down as low as 300-400 rpm when he turns off his air struts, the engine is dying, they may flash as the engine lopes at such low idle. I'd want to know why the engine drops rpm so drasticly becuase the air struts get turned off.... and i'm not sure, what the conversion to mph from kmh? avg top speed on a stock loyale? 80-90 ish?
  2. I've got a bov on my car, it will vent at idle, slightly, it'll pulse, open close, open close, but, normaly its ok at cruise speed. Sometimes if i get it just right i can hold the throttle right at the edge of boost, mabey slightly into boost, and on a backpeddal stroke, not under acceleration, it will start blowing air, you'll hear a constant hiss of air, and it'll start to kill the car. But normal cruising it's just fine. I'd check for a vacuum leak that would make it open funny, or you should try and tap a diffrent vacuum source.
  3. Odd, i'm writing a book about this... sr. prject at school....all my listed stuff is on the school network, but i'll see what i can't do to remember as much of it as possible... Cold air intake, short ram style, cone filter, 3" HD pipeing Open exuast Hollowed Catalytic converter on the Downpipe Manual Boost control Wrx intercooler Wrx blow off valve Clutch fan removal A/C removal Spider intake Fuel system mods (ask tex ) Turbo timers; other electronics XT6 suspension swap, including brakes, (5- lug swap) Accel coil Grounding Systems XT6 alternator (or was it a GM alt?) Delta Cams XT6 fly wheel and clutch Tdo4 turbo's (oooohhh) Rx body kits Rx mirrors Impreza Hood scoop FWD switch (4EAT's only) alright, thats all i can think of for now, if iget my hands on my list from school any time soon i'll post it up for you. Later, Dan
  4. deffinitly an a/c drain tube, comes down infront of the fire wall, on the psngr side
  5. There are tons of advantages to doing the 5-lug, bigger brakes, more vairety of rotors you can use, more parts availible, impreza front end stuff will fit...and, you can have some cool 5-lug wheels on it...
  6. Its a CVJ, its on the outer part of your front drive axle. When the rubber boot on the CVJ splits open, the grease inside all dries out, or flings out and makes a mess. Then the ball-bearings inside dry out and start to "click" against the carrier inside the cvj. It'll click for a while, but in short, you need a new axle.
  7. okay, so heres one...having come back with a clear head, i re-tackled the peddal box, figured i'd take out everything in my way so i could see what i was looking at, considering this is a parts car, will never run again any ways, and i needed to have a clear understanding of whats goin on so that i can put it into my car without tearing everything apart. So, after removing the ecu, all the plastic covers, the front seat (jus for fun ) and dropping the stearing colum; i got the box loose, got the brake peddal all disconected, and tried to shimmy it out over the steering colum, but its either going to take a whole lotta effort, or its not comin out. so how do you pull a steering colum? new one for me. thanks for the help.
  8. Your dash lights turn off? does that mean they are on when your lights are off? that'd make a strange one, but if they just don't come on at all, mabey your dimmer roller is all the way down, or unplugged. There are several lights that turn on behind the display, i don't envision them all burning out at once. Unless you have a digi dash...then...i don't know, time for a new display...
  9. mmmm, noodles. We should come up with a try that'll sit on the turbo, and stay there while we drive...stop every couple miles to turn the steaks...mmmm
  10. I'll see what i can't do to get a picture if i can't figure this out. BTW, the silver bracket isn't so silver, its all kinda rusted and tarnished
  11. I'm working on pulling out the whole pedal assembly from my 1986 (?) turbo parts wagon, its a clutch, 5spd trans, that i'm swaping parts from into my 89 turbo auto. So, i get around to pulling the pedals and all, need to get that clutch peddal, and smaller brake pedal into my car, so i get the clutch off, after quite a while of strugling with it. And i figure i'm going to need the entire rod that all the pedals attatch to considering it needs that inch of extension for the clutch pedal to bolt onto. Btw, the cluth has the funny spring deal on it to assisist clutch movement or something, diffrent that other loyales that i've changed clutch cables on before. Now, i can't figure out how to get the whole thing out, do i need to pull the entire braketing asembly that practucly bolts to everything under the dash? Or is there a trick to pulling the whole assembly? I don't know if there's going to be room to slide the bar out of either side of the mounting brackets, its a long rod, and a small space. Any one done this before? Or....any one know how else i would rig up a pedal operated piece to move the clutch line, as a peddal, but a diffrent setup...custom style?
  12. You'll still have A/C without the compressor, commonly known as 4/70 A/C. Four windows, 70 mile an hour Dump all your heatshieliding around the turbo, that cross bar under the spare tire, the spare tire, clutch fan, stock air box, all the plastic sheilding around the fuel lines, egr setup (debatable)....theres alot that can be eliminated, but some requires more effort.
  13. Thats a nice looking car, i've seen it on the board before somewhere, i've got a picture of it on my computer still. Its a very sanitairy looking job, very nicely done. I'm not sure i'm liking the huge tach placed into the display case, original and all, but the plastic glass was cut to allow it to stick out the top...kinda goofy looking, though i'm sure it serves its purpose. I like the covered toggle swith on the left side of the steering wheel too...for his nitrous i'm sure...
  14. Lol, good work! I feel like that all too often, i'm sure Tex also knows the feeling.
  15. LOL!!!!! Thats awesome.... Its okay though...our cars are still no honda's....not that honda's are bad or anything...but they just aren't subaru's....
  16. Yea, i've had that happen on my car, the piping from the intercooler has blown completly off a couple times, my fault not tightening the clamps enough. You may want to reset your ecu if you still have hesitation problems now, did you throw a check engine light while you were leaking air? it would have been an maf error, or something like that. btw, just disconnect battery for like ten minutes to reset your ecu.
  17. DUDE!!! you can just bearly see my car through tex's windows....
  18. My tranny's about ready to give it up, though it is an auto, so i don't think it has much bearing on the question being asked. But, it's a 4eat, late shifts, long shifts, no shifts, minor slipage etc...
  19. guess my sig would also be of use, since my car's been dubbed "ricey" too Home depot intake man... take off your exaust...run it outa the downpipe...just dont light your under body on fire or anything mbc, with an Intercooler of course
  20. I must say...thats a classy lookin sedan. Very clean. I'm not sure i like the look with the removed side molding there though...
  21. Yes, "ideas..." The car has a set of like 225 truck wheels in the back, 2, 185 tires with full tread. And a nice 3 1/2 ton Mac tools Jack in the back as well. Also the rear bumper. A digidash, wind deflector for my car, and tahts about it. The rest will be up for grabs some time in the future...i don't know if i want to bother with trying to pull and ship parts off it, but if your in the area your welcome to any of the parts on it you would like to come pull, after i'm done of course:grin:
  22. There was also a decent sum of cash with the wallet...but being good sumaritans and all, we only looked. And thanks for the criticism (sp?) on my car and all, but i'm pretty keen on the way it looks for now, i like it, i don't think i'd get much gain outa my Ic w/o the hood scoop anyways... now the neon lights in the hood scoop....are definitly ricey:rolleyes: but those are only for special ocasions...
  23. another angle of the horror.... Well, the rest of the show went great....here are a couple pics.... It was a great show, great reactions to the two subaru's....
  24. the car was ugly, the kid, though he may have been slightly older than me :-p , wasn't the nicest seeming of guys, he's one that belongs in an automatic honda. Still can't believe he woulnd't sell me his body kit, think i offered 150 for it, wouldn't take it! He's asking 2K for it! Good luck!
