  1. how bout a boosted na motor with meth injection?
  2. ill bring some duct tape! he wont have a choice!
  3. that would be kinda interesting... dont see any reason why not to try it unless carlisle is going to have a problem with it. im still pretty green when it comes to wrenching but id help.
  4. welcome! i dont think youll find much in the range of fuel injectors with better atomization for our older cars. if youre concerned theyre a bit gummed up, run through a tank of premium fuel with a bottle of gumout. im not familiar with SPFI, i think its like throttle body injection (1 big injector?) but the same still applies. custom exhaust is almost always specially fabricated, so piping and mufflers are your choice. dont get much bigger diameter exhaust, or youll lose some power due to the loss of backpressure. and dont waste your money on the tornado. you might pick up a few more mpg, but thats only because youre carrying a much lighter load in your wallet.
  5. might that be related to the cruise control? CC hasnt worked in that car as long as ive owned it. (not like i need it but just curious)
  6. the length of the wire would have something to do with it indeed. more wire, more resistance. i would also check to make sure you have good metal to metal contact on your terminals.
  7. i figured something that was out of your control was happening. you were all about the show when i was at your house. didnt seem like you to just drop the ball. good to hear everything is working out!
  8. so im diggin around lookin for the green connectors for timing under the dash. i found those, and i also found a random connector (left of pic)that didnt look like it had a counterpart. it doesnt mate with the white connector in the background. and what are the black ones for?
  9. are you 100% sure the turbo spins freely? have you tried pressurizing the intake tract to see if it leaks or not?
  10. im going to check this out on my wagon when i get a chance. im getting like 12" of vac at idle. if this is found to be faulty, do i just get another TB from the junkyard?
  11. your D/R fulltime should swap right in. now if you want to swap an EJ motor in, the tranny wont bolt up without some sort of adapter, but i would think to swap the ej tranny with the motor as well.
  12. i think i can get my friend mike to drive one of my cars. still trying to talk him into bringing his imp too.
  13. autometer makes some nice stuff. i think the newer models are available with different background colors to match your interior.
  14. should add a bit more grunt, but it also has to be balanced properly so it doesnt fly apart when spinning at high rpms.
  15. do we have a headcount for people planning on coming? if we're planning on sharing some food and/or beverages we need an idea of how much to bring. im thinking me +1 or 2
  16. it was a PITA when i replaced mine. you have to remove the 4wd plenum, and i undid a few bolts that held a hardline in place to allow clearance for my socket. (you need a deep-well socket, i only have impact deep-well sockets, you might have a bit more ease removing it if your tool selection is broad.) make sure the contacts on the wire arent corroded. apparently the corrosion is a leading cause of what sets off that CEL code.
  17. mine doesnt, but it has 2 maplights on either side of the sunroof controlls.
  18. thatll buff right out good thing youre ok and the car is driveable!
  19. pick a line that vac/boost sensative. ie: line for boost gauge.
  20. cmon folks, get those registrations in! if were going to get our club spot again we need to get signed up ASAP!
  21. pcv valve is rearward of the throttle body, has a plastic hose that curves out and up to meet the rest of the plumbing coming from the valve covers.
  22. use premium fuel and rev it out some more. (in a controlled environment of course!)
