  1. the evo 8s have something similar as well. if you really truely want to split the power so all the wheels had an even share, get lockers. itll drive like a pick up truck though. front and rear LSDs and a 50/50 center diff would probably be as close as you can get without lockers to evenly split up the torque.
  2. its probably a resistor that you wire in line with the maf. pack of 5 costs $.99 at radio shack. its a 'get rich quick' scheme thats common on ebay. if you install one, the car will probably run rich, and then start throwing codes.
  3. your best bet would probably be a fulltime 4wd, found in gl-10s and RXs. an AWD tranny out of a newer subaru would probably require a lot of fabrication and cussing.
  4. plus, the air being "cooled" is going to the same temp as the air doing the "cooling". no benefit there either.
  5. save your money. get it locally if you really want one. ive seen them in parts stores for like $5.
  6. that was pretty fun even though i wasnt able to get any consistancy with my launches. im looking forward to the meet in august (i think its august!)
  7. cool, ill try to meet up with you guys. ben, ill give you a ring when im on the way just incase you dont see this and time, and so i dont forget where im going.
  8. im going 81 to 11/15... im not familiar with 322. what time are you guys meeting there?
  9. http://stores.ebay.com/VertexNow these guys are out of delaware. lots of supplies for custom intake and exhaust projects.
  10. i actually got it all connected tonight! this is definately going on my list of things i never want to do again. started the buggy up, let it run for a few mins, saw no leaks, so i should be good to go.
  11. thats good to know, but how do i get the electric fan to come on? i took out all the AC stuff like the lines, the condenser? (radiator lookin thingy), the compressor, etc, so i cant really turn the AC on. im afraid that the electric fan WONT come on if im out driving around, because i cant remember ever hearing it start. ill have to check next weekend to make sure its operable.
  12. when i find the guy responsible for putting one of those irritating pinch style hose clamps under the intake manifold, hes going to be in a world of hurt. i ended up cutting the coolant hose apart, piece by piece. tomorrow, i have the exciting task of trying to put new hose back in!
  13. you could try to stitch it up yourself, but if youre not up to the task there should be a local uphostery shop willing to do it. or you could always just cover it up with a seat cover or just duct tape it!
  14. are you sure all your wires are clamped tight and free of corrosion? the positive terminal on my cavalier was pretty corroded, and it had a fit a couple of times, and wouldnt start right away. i dont mean to be insulting, ive just learned that its always good to start with the basics when troubleshooting.
  15. castrol gtx in the buggy, mobil 1 in the wrx, both use purolator pureone oil filters
  16. i pulled the clutch fan off, i dont know how freely its supposed to spin, but im pretty sure its not up to par. i might crack it open today, and see if i cant grease it up or replace the ball bearings or something.
  17. no radio! i slapped an accessory panel in its place. maybe i can pull a junkyard fan until i get a new radiator and electric fans.
  18. how long would the car be able to go with a bad water pump? it hasnt overheated, its just obnoxiously loud.
