  1. what did you guys with the wrx intercoolers use to plumb the IC outlet to the TB? if i remember correctly, the outlet is 2 3/4" and im thinking the TB inlet is 2 3/8" or 2 5/8". and what is the small hose connected to the middle of the 4WD plenum? am i going to have to plumb that, or can i just put a breather filter on it?
  2. if youre going to ship it via truck freight, make sure you have a sturdy outer frame. forklifts damage things very easily. pack it with bubble wrap and styrofoam, and make sure that its clearly marked that the contents are fragile.
  3. :-\ i wanna go the recirc route for now... thanks though
  4. well im going to see if i cant get that valve from that guy, seeing as i paid for it. do you mean a regular oem valve without the elbow where the return hose attaches?
  5. i finally got my wrx IC, but the guy didnt pack the recirc valve when it was clearly stated in the auction that it was included.
  6. if theyre installed correctly, theyre supposed to be able to rip a fender off! thats tough! try this: http://catalog.com/susq/
  7. ive heard of Z guys doing this so they can get to max boost quicker. nitrous oxide basically adds more oxygen, helping burn more fuel if im not mistaken. i understand running lean when youre using N02 is what causes you to blow your motor up. i would ask a local speedshop and see if they have any concerns with spraying at low rpms.
  8. i figure with a set up like that, i could jam a prefilter in there if i wanted to, for those extra dusty conditions.
  9. heres somethin else to cook your noodle. placement of the filter and the source of the air. my intake is a homebrew with a 6" k&n cone. it looks decent, and im sure it performs better than stock. i cant really be sure, because that was one of the first things i did to the car when i got it, and it ran like ***** then. it was running on 3 cylinders and had 3 exhaust leaks... anyway, skip pointed out that the way i have the intake set up now, it might be sucking more air in, but its all hot air from the engine bay. i wanna redo it so it sucks FRESH air from a duct cut through the side of the fender, like on those new land rover LR3s. im just hoping that ill be able to find a spot to cut the whole way through.
  10. stupid question: why would you have to engage the difflock on a FT4WD? i thought torque was split 50/50 at all times with that tranny.
  11. thats like what i did on my wagon, but i left in the subaru emblem and added some mesh.
  12. i can get my hands on some 370cc nissan injectors. ive got half a mind to nab them if the price is right and just hold onto them until i figure out a way to actually get them into the buggy and working.
  13. theres a book called 'maximum boost' by corky bell thats really comprehensive. i was quite impressed with it. now if i could just get my copy back! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0837601606/qid=1104139650/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/104-0185643-1964703
  14. thats the kinda stuff i wish we had down here
  15. *Bling* ive got a center locking diff on the buggy
  16. smooth.... youre lucky, rust is what kills these cars around here!
  17. thanks! theyre KC Daylighters and the stock covers that come with. i sanded them down, spray painted them black, and had some stickers cut that said subaru.
  18. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2228 I finally got around to taking some new pictures of the buggy with all my lights and the corbeau seats installed. ive been cutting out rust, so theres big holes in the rear fenders. now im thinkin fender flares since im already hacking that area up
  19. i thought it sounded nice. however, i wont be going the BOV route unless i get MSnEDIS...
  20. i know you can buy individual silicon connector pieces in various shapes in sizes from injen. ill probably use those with some ebay special mandrel bent aluminum pipe once my IC gets here.
  21. this is a little OT. im still figurin out how all the little bits and pieces of cars fit and work together, but i think i have this figured out. the throwout bearing (4?) pulls the pressure plate away from the clutch when the #10 piece pushes on #5. is that the gist of it?
  22. that link doesnt work for me either i could probably get some used injectors off a '90 300zxTT
  23. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19715&highlight=oil+cooler+adapter i would assume the contents havent changed, so thats whats in the kit.
