I bought this from a upper end wrecking yard that more or less only deals with newer stuff. This is supposed to be out of a 03 WRX wagon auto. I took the plate off and sure enough the gears were right, being 4.111 that I was looking for. But I have never seen a factory LSD. If anyone has looked inside a WRX rear end is this what they look like. Sorry for the crappy picture but all i had was my phone.

i dont know where those $1500 100k mile subarus are. they aren't out here. subaru is just another way of spelling gold out here. 200k+ for around $1500 is about the norm, sad i know. hell i just paid $1000 for a salvage titled legacy, but i knew it was a fender bender and that the insurance company didn't want to fix it, but still. and i think i could make money on it just because it has lower miles. the early legacys have hit there bottom in price and just aren't getting any lower, you are now paying for miles and condition.

I just bought a 93 legacy awd 5 speed. its a great low milage car but is coming up on a timing belt here soon. Im going to do the belt myself and I want to know what to do to not get the wobbling crank after doing it. from what i read it is caused by not tightening the crank pulley enough after removing the pulley to do a timing belt or other work. What do i need to do to avoid it? Lock tight? tightening the crap out of it? what? Also is it ok to tighten the crank pulley by putting the car in gear and then tightening. I have done this on other cars in the past and never had a problem, but i just want to make sure that will work on this.

and trust me they dont know what they are doing, and take it from me i work there. its sad when i know more then any manager that works there.

got to say colin mcrae 04 or 05 is one of the better rally games ever. it is as dead on as you can get for a video game.

this is my first plan and give it some good tugs with my hands before strapping anything to it and pulling. I hope it's just something this simple and i don't have to give it some big pulls. But even if I got to convince it to go where it needs to be it's only a half inch so not to far.

well i'm going to give it shot in the next couple of days to see if I can pull the wheel forward. ive got my come a long and a tow strap and a truck to be the anchor. So we will see.

I looked at the frame. well, as well as one can laying on his back in his driveway. The frame doesn't look odd from one side to the other. I'll give the cross brace a check tomorrow and see. where would i pull from on the car with the come-a-long. I guess the a arm, because thats what i want to move. Durr, i'm dumb.

if you want something fast buy something other then a subaru. keep away from the laughing gas, things go boom with stuff because you always want more. and then it's to late

Ok I just bought a 93 5 speed legacy sedan awd and i have some questions about the alignment that I just dont know the answer to. The car was in a fender bender, well more of a midnight someone drunken driving through the yard and clipping the front of the car and messing up the hood, fender and bumper. My buddy noticed that passenger wheel had been pushed back a little. So he replaced the lower A arm with a good one had it aligned and thought all was good. He then started to notice that the front passenger tire was wearing odd and I told him it was probably just a crappy alignment. I have had bad experiences with les schwab and their alignments before. Hell i even had one of their guys tell me my king pin was getting worn out, odd how my truck didn't even have a king pins. So now it sits in my driveway and I was out measuring the front wheels to the back of the car and the passenger tire is still 1/2" farther back then the drivers. So my question is, is there any kind of adjustment in the front that would allow me to move the front wheel forward 1/2"? Please forgive my crappy drawing but if i put a couple of body washers where the red arrow is do you think that would move the front wheel forward? I don't want to give up on this car. It's a great rig. And what I paid, even with a salvaged title is a good price. That and the thing only has just over 100k miles so it is just starting it's life. Please help with any ideas that you can think of.

So im looking to put some stainless steel brake lines on my legacy and was curious if any one had any brands they could recommend over the others. I bought some ebay ones awhile back for another car. I never had any problems with them but many people did. I guess the line would break and the fluid would make a bubble in the plastic coating. Needless to say it wasn't a pretty thing. Thank god i never had that happen to me.

god i love dumb people, if you can't do it stay home dont go out and mess up other peoples cars. i love how he just floored it when he thought he had a strait path down that road but i saw that crap all day today as i just idled by them in my loyale thank god for skinny rump roast snow tires, i was crawling by all these jacked up jeeps and trucks just spinning out because they think because big tires+4x4+ lots of power means i can go any where, hah, i'll take any of them on.

i would just fear starving the motor of oil at that angle if it was low at all. but you say it cranks over so probably not. thats a pretty steep angle to have a car on in the first place and then to let it sit there and run. do you hear the pump running when you turn the key on. it should cycle on for just a sec when you first turn it on.

still 10 wires that are labeled well worth it. just wish i could go that route right now. maybe some day. just dont stop doing this any time soon. I always find the stuff that I want to do when i can't do it

among many other tools. but yes a dremel would have made it a lot easier. but i make do with what i got.

Ok so the brand name was "CarDone Select". I got it from schucks and it's got a lifetime warranty, don't know if I would ever want to get another one though. I did notice one thing when i got the O rind from the dealer was it was a little thinner then the one that came with the new water pump. But still fit and is working great. So now I just wait and see if the snow shows or not. Cross my fingers, I want some white stuff to play in. Even if it's just for a little bit.
