I know the older first gen lego had the occasional radio with an aux input for running mp3 player, cd player, iPod, etc. Are there any other years or models that had that also? I'm wanting to put one in my impreza but the harnesses changed from the early legacys to the imprezas and as far as I can figure out the rest of the line ups too. So pretty much most anything impreza and 95+ legacy and forester had the same radio plug. Any help would be great. Thanks Worst case scenario I'll just splice in a old legacy radio, but would like to avoid that if possible.

Hey no one will ever claim you to be lazy, just exact opposite actually. To dang busy. But looking good bill, what ever it's for, always works of art with your stuff. Oh btw where's that dang shifter.

Well let me know when you get there, I know that is the part that is stopping a lot of the Subaru guys from trying it out. There is guy over on legacy central that has one mounted in an old legacy and from the sounds of it, it was pretty damn easy. Well easy if you can work metal. Schools going good, still on winter break right now so been getting little projects done on my car. Just ordered up a bunch of brake parts, so its still moving along. Just spent a couple hours the other day at autozone finding me an upper rad hose. So short of wiring the head lights the under the hood is for the most part done.

Oh and bill were you going to get back on the shifter thing any time soonish, my big mess of ugly really is what I'm going to use if yours doesn't come through. Now shockingly as ugly as it may be, it actually shifts (at least in the garage) quite nicely.

And they sat behind one of the most craptastic Toyota motors ever.I always see tons of dead v6 trucks and 4 runners around.

When I ordered up my clutch from bills guy he said he could put any center into any disc. So from the stand point of finding a disc it sure doesn't sound to hard, but then you have the throw out part.

As a friend of mine says, it's equal parts terrifying and brilliant My answer for a remote shifter right now.

http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=44664&start=75 even 3 in inches sill wont be enough probably. there's a guy on lego central that has one mounted in his car already and i guess he has a remote shifter figured out, we are just waiting for some pictures.

The first battery was fresh off the charger, I think it was a combo of motor that hadn't been started in over a year and a starter that I think is dying that made it so grumpy to wake up. Let me know when you get it ready, I'll give it a go and let you know how it works out.

dress code? i didn't know there was one for garage work? at least i wasn't just in my underwear. does the tail part come off pretty easy? it looks like its a bunch of bolts and it slides off.

hows this for motivation also random question about the shifter, we don't have to disassemble the tranny to get this in right? it all fits when you take off that, what ever you want to call it, cover.
-
Hey Bill, do you have an idea on a time frame for your shifter being available?
-
just so bill doesn't hate on my showing the progress of my build. here's a link to my build thread http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=938042

Nah I really did have full confidence that it was going to work great. The only thing I will tell you about the throw out bearing collar, on the side that faces the trans, the edge that slide on the trans snout, mine had a very very slight lip. Like just enough to scrape the back of your fingernail on and have it take some off. So when I put it on it almost felt as if it wanted to snag/drag as the clutch would be released. So I took a small round file to it to knock it down and that feeling went away. Just an FYI, not the end of the world but I'll be picky just for you. When ever your shifter is ready to go out let me know, I have been playing with an idea for a remote shifter, it will work, just would be an odd ugly looking thing. But I'm at the point of figuring out my location of the shifter and e-brake handle so I need to get them in asap.

Damn skippy. But really it was a, hey bill, your bell housing works. Not sure if anyone else had gotten one running or not. And my goal is making the next years WCSS so others can see my cluster eff of a car.

It's alive!!!!!! ITS ALIVE!!!!!!! 2 battery's and 3 sets of jumper cables later and miss grumpy woke up. I did take some video so I'll patch that together with my couple failed attempts.
-
YES WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! I have been saying it for awhile that this thing fits quite well in the engine bay. The key was the early 2.2 heads, they were small enough to clear the steering and not need to do major surgery on the frame rails.
-
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! Just add fuel for the first test run.
-
Hey bill what's up with your shifter relocater? Are the done or are you still messing around with them? Would I need to give you a "I need it moved this much" figure? Or how does it work?
-
yeah or just find a toyota one. but really because the 3.0 that were in front of the r150 was pretty much destine to die young there are plenty of them out there.
-
Clutch has been ordered Dan said he was overwhelmed by your shop when he came to visit, I can only imagine the chaos that is your shop with all of your projects.
-
Yes bill I'm aware of what disc is needed, I mean come on I have been there since day one, sheesh. You just rant and rave about your clutch guy and I wanted to see where he fell on price. Can he do puck discs too?
-
Hey bill who was your guy that you go to for clutches? I'm at the point of needing one and want to start figuring out my options. Thanks
-
Thanks, it turned out pretty good I think. At least it will work good for me. Oh and man I hate wiring.
-
OOoooooooOOOOooooo look, a finished header now onto every ones favorite job, wiring. and after 5 hours of removing crap i dont need i'm still not done, but it's much smaller
