this is my fourth zip. your write what fun it is to drive. nerw to board but not subaru's. they take a licking and try on ticking. you will learn to work on it if you care to. they are not that hard to repair, with alittle help from your friends. yea learned a lot here on the sites. yes a subaru will run real far before it dies. and then only if you try hard can you kill it. had 1 turbo ss go 1 year and a half before it died a 3 cylinder. it run on 3 cylinder till I replaced it completely. yet another ss that time a stick. even my subaru dealer was great. would do deal again with them when I finish with ML 55. almost done paying for it too. next STI. be well, be careful and enjoy your zip. is your's a turbo, if not I would only do it thru the top. even with a turbo I would do it thru the top. and if changing any parts between the trany and the motor make sure that the convertor and the flex plate are the same before putting trany up into place. just did trany exchange. it is no fun if you get a different trany/flez plate. good luck with your repairs. question I have a 91 SS and the CEL does in fact flash. is this because it's an earlier model or is the ECU causing the flashing. copied your chart for myself have a 2-2; 3-2; 4-2. I will replace O/2, idle switch and knock sensor. then see how it runs. have to watch what I spent. knew I saw that chart on the site some where. be well, enjoy your drive. subaru what to drive. D

I believe I am a member, due to rotating shift's and continuing repairs on 91 SS I am trying to make the event. I love driving my Zip. may not be fastest but I can go far on a tank of gas. as far as eating whatever is there is okay by me. will this be a weekend thing or a one day? are kids welcome? my car will not be up to trail riding/driving for now. can I drive trail without draging my bottom or other damage? I would drive just about anywhere as long as I can drive the rest of the way home. for now I will plan to attend. still need to know what dates and where so as to plan for same. my son will not be able to make it (playing marine at the time) but maybe one of the grands can accompany me (4-7 y/o). if you can send me some mopre information I will try my best to be there. by myself or with someone. -
just repalced a tranny in a turbo SS, bid on ebay cost 339 dollars with freight and is working pretty good if you please. in your case it is most likely a n/a unit. it should be a little less for yours. put it in with a friend of mine. not a hard job. be careful with the linkage and you should be okay. be well and be careful. subaru what to drive. Daniel.

hey blackbart we are going to have to meet one day. I see you bid on a lot of legacy's. I'll just getting back into a subaru. newly single with son in marines. what a test life is. hey what is the chance. do you have a lsd 3.90- for a turbo SS. just put a used tranny in. had 61k miles on it. oh and do you have any mud flaps for the passenger side rear. have to get at you tomorrow. finishing up with watch. one day down the road I would like to switch over to a stick, just not yet. I work in the city (new york) and live upstate in elizaville, that's near hudson new york. I enjoy weekend drives to new places and enjoy meeting new people. one other thing I've owned four subaru now, they are one of the best for taking a beating and keep on ticking. what kind of seats fit the 91 legacy if you know? are wrx seats bolt in replacements? be well and enjoy your weekend. daniel.barry@med.va.gov

the hub holds the bearing. the hub also holds the studs that the lug nuts go on. with the axle taken out you still have the studs to put the nuts on, the struts are still there to hold up the hub with wheel attached and the streering hardware is still all there. let's think about this for a moment. the struts, hub and bearing are all still there. yes the wheel with attach and turn without the axle in the car. no you could not drive it but you can put it on it's wheeels and pass it around. just not with the motor moving the car. be well, Daniel. daniel.barry@med.va.gov

i just won a bid on a trany. it is for a turbo legacy 4x4 auto. do not know what gears are in rear/diff. my rear is a 3.90 in the car now. another thing I like to know about is that the trany came with convertor. thing is my tran's convertor had the tight/small convertor. what size bolt pattern does the turbo convertor come with. what size gears are in a turbo trany? the 3.90 lsd unit is done. just would like to know what gears are in the front diff! the trans code on front of tag is TZ. the rear of the tag is ML. is there a risitor under the battery on the legacies? does removal increase the firmness of the shifting? is it replacble if you do not like the shifting? like the idea of longer legs for long drives and military camp visits. 4.10's oklay it just the price of gas and 2k - 2.5 k at the dorp of a hat. Would like to take the car to the track and see what time it will do? no power brake, no drop just a clean start off the line. any suggestions? thanks for your time. be well, enjoy your motoring.
