  1. I've got a 1990 justy 4wd and MPFI. The 90' - 94' MAP sensor will work on this car. I've already gotten 1 from a wrecking yard that worked for a little while but is starting to have the same issue. The car will drive for a while but occasionally the engine will shut off briefly and instantly start running again. This mainly happens when I am maintaning a constant speed. The Sub dealer said it was the MAP sensor after some dignostics. I would appreciate any info or advice on the problem and how to fix it. Also I would appreciate any information on where I can easily get sensors for this car. They don't make these as far as I know so the parts are hard to get. Thankyou:brow:
  2. I've got a 90' with manual trans. I had to replace alot of sensors to get it running properly. replaced MAP, TPS, and ECU. all came out of 94' fwd. I was told by a sub dealer that the 94' stuff is the current replacement for anything predating. Mine runs great now. if you need info about wiring colors or what not I might be able to help. mine is 4wd if that matters at all.
  3. hey, does anyone know the compression ratio of the EJ12 engine. I'll probably have to install lower compression pistons. I've been thinking about picking up an engine for around $150 to build with performance parts.
  4. I've been doing a little research about NA to turbo conversion. lower compression seems to be better. Does anyone know if my engine can handle a few PSI of boost without any piston changes? I'm planning on doing around 7 psi max. it won't give me 120 HP but I'm not looking for anything major.
  5. do you know if requires any special equiptement or can it be done with an arc welder?
  6. well, I got the turbocharger yesterday. It's a little bigger than anticipated but still usable I think. I'm definetly going to need to weld something for a manifold. can regular exhaust manifold metal be welded? maybe I could get another manifold and modify it. If this doesn't work I can use it to replace the turbo on my T-bird turbocoupe, so no loss.
  7. Great ideas. I like the TMIC with WRX scoop. I might do that. I just ordered the turbo today. right now my concern is locating where to access oil and coolant sources. Any sudgestions on where to tap into the existing lines? i'll probably use an oil cooler. i've seen them before and it sounds good. I'm looking for just a basic boost maybe 120HP, so nothing to major in terms of modifications. Also, this is my first experience with installing a turbo so any sudgestions on what to do or not do.
  8. thanks for the sudgestions, today at work I was browsing the internet and came across something on ebay that sounds like a good option for basic turbocharging. here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8058102490 price seems good and I think I can rig up something to the manifold.
  9. i've got a 90' Justy with MPFI/4wd. I've seen a few people put turbochargers on there EJ12 3 cylinder engines. I think a garret t2 or something like that. I might have to make my own header, but if someone knows where I could get a prefab in the states I would appreciate it. also I would appreciate any sudgestions or ideas. thanks
