  1. a. Along the drivers door sill in front of the seat their should be a lever to pop the trunk. Push to pop the fuel door, Pull to pop the trunk... b. There is a small pull tab at the top of the rear seat that will allow the rear seat back to fold down, allowing access to the trunk... c. I think the dealer can cut a key if you provide them with the VIN and proof of ownership...
  2. So, Blaster, what kind of tires are those??
  3. I have never seen these before. They are on an Vortex (XT) turbo in Australia. I recognise the center cap, but it looks like there was originally another flat centercap like the one on an XT6???
  4. The fuel tank in my Brat has some issues... Has anyone ever used the POR-15 Fuel Tank kit to restore a gas tank? Here is the link for the sealer; http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=163 And here is the link for their Gas Tank kit; http://www.por15.com/product.asp?productid=316
  5. And the brightest star of the constellation is Alcyone, which is the name Subaru used for XT's and SVX's in other countries.
  6. OK, so what is this block and tube between the head and where the Y-Pipe attaches?? And secondly should it be on my 1986 Brat, or was another engine stuck in it at some point?? The parts guy at the dealership tells me that whatever it is shouldn't be there on an 86 Brat, thats why the studs I ordered and went to pick up weren't long enough??
  7. If'n I remember correctly it was you who started the battlecry to get 25 of us together after you went to last years show... So thank you Reverend for planting the seed for this great weekend we all had. <even if you did forget the venison and bail on the lasagna>
  8. just posted on the other but I'll add it here... I'll be bringing my Weber grill and lamb ribs. I'll have extra charcoal if anybody else wants to play with the grill. See you all on Saturday morning.
  9. ditto... I'll be bringing my weber grill and some ribs (lamb), I'll try to pick up some plates and such also. I'll have some extra charcoal along if'n anyone else want to use the grill. I should be getting down Sat morning sometime.
  10. The 2.2 in the Leg's and Imprezza's is an increadably reliable engine. Like Turbone pointed out, you may want to change the cam belts if they haven't been done. I took my first set to about 90k. but for the 2.2 I think the recomendation is around 80k. I am somewhere around 187k now and have not had to replace anything other than belts, gaskets, etc. There are a handful or Europeans on the board, I'm sure they'll chime in before too long. The one I can think of offhand is "Setright" who is very knowledgeable in all things Subaru. Welcome aboard,
  11. I'm about 45 minutes from the park, but am on your way back to CT... Check out Cressona (17929) on a map, let me know if you're interested.
  12. Two months later, here is the Photo write up I promised... Thanks again to Mark for the original instructions, this is nothing but a photo-illustration of it. 1.As always, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. Then start by removing the six screws on the back of the Pod. I found it easiest to use a 2” long Phillips bit (like you would put in a cordless drill) There was no handle to get in the way, and I was able to just twist it between my fingers as the screws aren’t in that tight. 2.Once the pod is open remove the 3 screws that hold the Switch Box onto the back of the pod. 3. Next remove the 2 screws that hold the Light Bar onto the Switch Box 4. Now remove the 2 screws that hold the Wiring Panel onto the Switch Box. Once the screws are out, pull the Wiring Panel off of the Switch Box, be careful not to lose the spring (Yellow arrow). This may also be a good time to replace the Light Bulb (green arrow). 5. The Switch Box is now free of the Pod and the Wiring Panel. You now have access to the 3 white Contact Blocks. The “Off” (left) and the “Headlight” (right) are the two that are going to be swapped (Blue Arrows). Notice that the “Off” Block has no contacts, the “Parking Light” Block has one contact, and the “Headlight” Block has 3 Contacts (Parking Lights, Headlight Motors, and Headlight Bulbs). Also notice the small Springs (Green Arrows) under each Contact. The Contacts in this photo are good, but the ones in Melissa’s car were melted into the Contact Block and no longer would spring up and make contact the Wiring Panel. 6. By holding the switch in place, you can lift the white Contact Block out of the black slider. Be careful, because once the white Contact Block is removed the Switch Button will come free of the Switch Box. Remove the Contact Block for the “Off” Switch and the “Headlight” Switch. Move all of the contacts from the melted “Headlight” Block and reinstall them into the unmelted “off” Block. Then reinstall your “New Headlight” Block in the upper position, and install the melted Block into the “Off” position. 7. Reinstall the Wiring Panel onto the Switch Box, and then replace the spring (Step 4, yellow arrow). 8. Reinstall the Light Bar. 9. Reattach the Switch Box onto the Pod Back Cover 10. Reattach the Pod halves together. 11. Hook up the battery and check your work.
  13. Thanks everyone Including the advice given during a phone call with Benebob the other night, this makes four respected opinions telling me what I was hoping to hear.
  14. When I am driving it will stay up at 75 all day long. If I leave it idle it will slowly drop a little close to 50.
  15. Not sure how much of a problem this is, but I am new to EA81's and am curious as to how bad this is. I got an 86 Brat over the weekend and the Oil Pressure has been running high, over 50 at idle and 75 while running. - I thought maybe it needed an oil/filter change so I did that and it had no effect (used 5/20 just to overcompensate) - It seems to be running like a champ otherwise - I did a search and only found "low" pressure problems?? Any thoughts???
  16. OK everyone, with the meet quickly aproaching I need some help. I'm trying to decide between the Legacy (probably not), the '92 SVX or my newest addition, the '86 Brat??? Right now, I am leaning toward the Brat, but I am not sure?? I have two cars registered?? It looks like there is only one other SVX, but if I bring the Brat I can bring my grill (see avatar) along:brow: ???? What car is everyone going to be taking?? I'll borrow Melis's Badge List.
