  1. The track is about 20 miles east of Lewistown. And, 20 miles west of Selinsgrove. Here is the tracks website with directions. http://www.beaversprings.com/contact.html The spot I was thinking of is along Rte 322, just north of Rte 81. Either right along a fairly wide exit ramp or at a McD's. Just off the highway.
  2. Just checking, Is it possible that it made the "faint sound" while hooked up, but with where it is mounted, you couldn't hear it? I keep thinking it more likely to be the siren itself, but I'm no expert with alarms.... Do these alarms have a Starter Disable? If so, where I live I would leave it as is. I'm not crazy about excess nise anyway.
  3. Dennis, are you going to meet up in Harrisburg and let me and Ben join the train. Jay, I guess you'd be coming up 83 or 81, do you want to meet up also? I know of a place, fairly convenient on Rte 322 just north of 81. I'll get a map and details up in the next day or so. This would put us about an hour from the track.
  4. I'm not familiar with THIS specific siren, but I've checked out other similar items with a 9 volt Battery. To get the power from the 9v to whatever I'm testing, you don't need anything fancy. A couple of wires, stripped and taped to the end of the battery, or even paper clips bent around the posts... Look for some identification of polarity on the terminals of the siren (+,-). For one person this may be easier than working the test light while your breaking in...
  5. Doesn't matter, someone else got it:( Thanks for your help
  6. Yeah, If you need help with an excuse, say the word well it looks like that XT6 got away from me...
  7. Boz, Thanks again for the lead, and now the Reg info. To get it home, how much trouble would I get in if i borrowed a "plate" to drive it home with. I will be getting it registered, but the place I use won't be open till monday. Steve, Yes, it was "Stoplamp" I don't remember if I had my foot on the brake or not. But I did take it for about 25 minutes worth of test driving and it didn't come on while I was driving. btw Steve are you going to the shootout?
  8. 90K is around the time for timing belt replacement. Ask if it was just done, If not, use it to lower the price.
  9. I remember somebody was welding up some rear strut tower replacements, up in New England somewhere... I can't think of his name, Paul should know? I'm sending you a PM.
  10. I drove to Jersey today to check out an XT-6 for sale. Overall it looked OK, around 170,000. Engine was "rebuilt" sometime between 80 and 130K. When I first turned on the headlights, a red warning light came on the dash. It was two words, "Stop ??" (damn short term memory). When I turned the headlights off, the red light went off. Later tried it and the headlights worked but the red light didn't come on. How difficult is an auto to 5spd swap? Anybody familiar with Pennsylvania Registration laws? Email me if you are. Thanks
  11. Yeah, initially but the rotor/pad rubbing would get worse over 3 months. Does the noise continue if you apply the brakes? If you haven't yet, rotate the tires and see if the noise follows the tire, or if it stays at the same corner.
  12. Just guessing here but Steely's in California and the Soob's in Florida. I have a feeling he doesn't know the car and is just passing on a post from somewhere else... Try that fullsail address????
  13. Thats one of the options, I'll be calling to check it out this weekend. Sounds like you decided what you're gonna race...
  14. There are a couple things in the air... If nothing changes I'll be taking the Legacy. I'll run it, but I don't know if you can call it "Racing" I measured about a 1/4 mile leaving my office and I'm running a fairly consistant 19 sec!!!
  15. Ben, I thought I saw you and your SVX yesterday in Harrisburg, but when I pulled up along side I saw that it was dirty, and knew it wasn't you. I did take your advice and cleaned my engine compartment. I'll show it off next week, unless I get something else to bring to the races...
  16. On a label somewhere on the Head unit it should tell you who made it also look at the connector that leads to the changer. Look at aftermarket decks made by the same company, they may use the same connector and your probably good to go. What year is it? Call some local salvage yards, they generally pull the decks as soon as any late models come in. Here http://www.car-part.com is a site to search slavage yards across the country. Cookie, A salvage yard is also a great place to find one of the little bins that goes in place when you replace a Double DIN with a single. That way rather than just a blank you can have another little hole to keep stuff in.
  17. Try to break in and see if the alarm sounds. If it does then the siren is good and the problem is in the box, maybe just a setting got reset. ps, don't use a hammer or brick to break in;)
