Which cars have the 4.44 diff ratio?
Hocrest replied to Andy FitzGibbon's topic in Subaru Retrofitting
4.44's will have a "TP" stenciled on them, it is usually up on top, so you can't see it while the case is mounted in the car. 4.11's have a "T2" -

Yeah, I used an angle grinder to turn the rounded 14mm heads into 13mm heads. I think the heat of grinding may have helped also. Use a 13mm wrench as a caliper to check your size as you slowly grind away at the six sides. Since the heads are shallow, I also ground the end of the socket flat. If you look at any socket, you'll see that the part that the bolt head goes into is slightly funnel shaped. On a normal head this is no problem on a shallow head, this leave very little cotact area. Just grind about 1/16" off the end of the socket to get it past the funnel section.

The fuel pump modulator is under the rear parcel shelf. There is also a fuel pump resistor back there. On an SVX both items must be wired in a for the fuel pump to work. If your running the Imp or an aftermarket pump, I'm not sure if you'll need them. The VSS is mounted right to the front diff at the same spot that the speedo cable goes to. It is a 3 wire sensor, I've heard that some newere Soobs have a similiar sensor with only two wires.

One of my questions for the Legacy swap, is the wiring for the clutch switches and manual transmission in place but not used? I've done the swap on an SVX, where none of the wiring is in place, just thinking maybe it already there on the Legacy since they did come with a 5 speed??? What about the cruise control computer??
