  3. Unsure on plans right now??? Breakfast at Waffle House? sure if sleep doesn't interfere Seafood = Yummy
  4. And we'll probably be in the Legacy or SVX... Bring what ya want
  5. I saw a few interesting things today in the junkyard, one of them was a RHD Legacy wagon. Not sure of the year, but it was a 2nd Gen 95-99. The body was smashed but the dash was intact, other than the airbags.
  6. I'm all revved up, but not ready to go  **** two months to get one of them ready.....
  7. So, does anyone know the "deadline" for registration?? The one to decide if we get a tent or if we have to do that seperately?? I'm not sure which cars are gonna be ready for then, so I'm not ready to register anything right now.
  8. You tell her  Or come over tomorrow night, I'll be cooking at the Cafe. Lobster Ravioli... You can take it for a drive also, since 95% of my recent stick experience is in the Brat...
  9. I haven't driven it yet, but my sister mentioned something about a shudder when gettin started. My first thought was the clutch shudder that was prevolent in the 00-01's. I did a search and couldn't find any posts about it happening in the newer models. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I'll be getting a chance to drive it tomorrow, so we'll see. It is a non-turbo and it has about 15,000 miles on it.
  10. Here is a link to tranny swap procedures written by one of the members over at subaru-svx.net It is written for the SVX, so there will be some differences, but for the most part it should be close. You can disregard all of the procedures dealing with the rear end. That is only needed if you swap a transmission with a different final drive ratio.
  11. A cracked flexplate sounds like a loud metal on metal clanging at certain engine speeds, often when NOT under load. Most of them that I've seen are cracked in a circle around the support ring that the bolts go through. A tip to make sure the TC is seated is to measure the distance from the face of the bellhousing to the TC tabs and match it to the distance from the flexplate to the engine block where it meets the bellhousing. Since there are multiple splines that need to get lined up to fully seat the TC, push in in as far as it will go, then spin it clockwise a few times, stop and push in whil slowly turning CCW. Repeat a second time to be sure. Once you do a few, you can tell if it's seated properly by the way it feels... Once it is in, use a long small wire to help hold the TC from slipping out while you maneuver the trans around, make sure to remove the wire once you get the trans into place, before you push it tight against the engine.
  12. Sometime in the next month or so, we'll have a cage in the SVX Racer.
  13. I found this on another car forum I belong to, I know nothing beyond what I'm posting and that it originally came from a Corvair board. >> We just received a phone call from a film production company that >> will be shooting a movie in Schenectady starring Keith Carradine that >> needs background cars for filming. The film is about a 1977 murder >> that happened in Wisconsin, and they're looking for cars from >> 1968-1977 and although the filming begins February 9 for about a >> month, they're not sure which days they'll need the cars for. >> >> For more information, contact Nick Barber at the Schenectady Film >> Alliance at (518) 374 8821 or (518) 496 5203 or via e-mail at >> ncbarber@juno.com. >> >> I guess we're quickly becoming the place that people come to when >> they want to know everything about cars! >> >> Stay Warm, Drive Safely! >> >> Alan >> >> Alan Edstrom >> Director of Programs and Events >> Saratoga Automobile Museum >> 518 587 1935 x 22 >> alan.edstrom@saratogaautomuseum.org
  14. Yeah, we should be in, not sure what car(s) will make the trip. I like the idea of just registering what we're gonna bring and chipping in some extra. I'm on the fence between pizza under the tent and dinner out????
  15. Or do you still have the "delete plates" molded in place. I've been thinking about adding some to my Legacy and I'm going to have to cut those plates out when the time comes. I haven't put a lot of time into figuring out the best way to do it yet...
  16. There are no holes in my trunk to match up, but I have a drill I think it would look good... The contour's look like they'll be close to matching...
  17. I was poking around at the yard today and I found a 1st Gen Turbo Legacy sedan (engine is gone). Does anyone know if the spoiler will fit a 2nd gen Legacy sedan?? There were no 2nd gen sedans in there to test fit it on, and it was in fairly rough shape so I'm only gonna buy it if it will come close to fitting. Has anyone done it? Pics?
