Ive seen a 1981/82ish 1600GLF coupe. It had twin carbs but I dont think it was it had any of the fancy heads etc. It was very odd ball. Wouldnt it only be the 1976ish RX coupe that would had been fitted with fliped valves, dif cam, heads and DC manifold??? Ive never seen one here. Only seen pics and brouches from Japan about that verson

Diesel motor transplant, 1990 Subaru Loyale Wagon
kiwi subbie replied to TravisD's topic in Subaru Transplants
Not quite. Every thing has been done before if you look back far enought. I know of a make of car that was fitted with diesel flat twin in aprox 1930. It was a little saloon fitted with a conventry diesel flat twin instead of the 7hp petrol flat twin it had in it. -

What year does OBD2 start from? Im pretty sure you wont find a 1997 JDM EG33.. Because the info I had found out that there were only 2 1997 JDMs reged in Japan.. Most of the JDM motors Ive seen seem to be out of 92s SVXs

Justy Motor to Loyale D/R Transmission
kiwi subbie replied to Little Bandit's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Im guessing what you had looked at was a EA82 ohc engine. Its wider and heaver. ea81 is the push rod motor which is smaller and lighter. a Ea71 I think is smaller by about 10mms on each side? -

I would grab it... You mite be able to fine one that had been crashed that you mite be able to transfer the stuff over... or find one full of rust??? maybe if your lucky lol Or go do a completely custom one off etc... Ive always wanted to do something hard core and custom with my old 1400 GL coupe. mind you thats all complete, just full of rust and dead rego.
