  1. If the spring or top hat is touching the inner strut tower, you might just need to tap the area it touches with a hammer until it clears. -Bill
  2. Hey everyone, while I am no longer making lifts on a regular basis, I do still have blueprints of all the lifts I offered available. They are $25 each, and can be emailed or snail mailed upon request. I have the following blueprints available: Gen 1 (1977-1981 Brat, 1977-1979 Wagon, Sedan, Coupe) - 4" EA81 (1982-1987 Brat, 1980-1989 Hatchback, 1980-1984 Wagon, Sedan, Coupe) - 3", 4", 6" EA82 (1985-1994 Wagon, Sedan, RX, 3-door Coupe, Loyale, Loyale RS; 1985-1992 XT, XT-6) - 2", 4", 6" PM me or give me a call. Paypal and money orders are preferred. Thanks -Bill
  3. All lift kits are sold, none left. Thanks to everyone who bought one, I hope you enjoy them and they serve you well, and sorry to anyone who missed out. If I start making more I will let yall know. Thanks -Bill
  4. Send me a Private Message, if you have a paypal account that is my preffered payment method, but I do accept money orders as well. -Bill
  5. I believe that when the suspension is in high mode it rides the same height as one that has springs instead of air struts, and when the suspension is in low mode it is actually 2" lower than a normal one, but I'm not 100% on that. There is one person here I can think of who put a 2" lift on an XT6 with air suspension and it all seemed to work perfect for him, if I remember right the username was grossgary, you might PM them and ask if they had any issues, I believe he used an SJR kit, which lowered the crossmember 1". -Bill
  6. My 2" lift will work with it while it is still working, all that is required is you will have to drill a hole in each front strut top-plate to run the air hose through. When the air struts finally give out you'll want to replace them or your ride quality will suck. -Bill
  7. I just finished up 5 of the 2" lifts from leftover parts I had, PM me if you want one, get them before they are gone! -Bill
  8. I just finished 5 of these 2" kits from parts i had left over, they are ready to ship and still only $120 shipped! PM me if you want one, get them before they are gone! -Bill
  9. You don't have to do anything with that mount, the lift kit drops the whole rear crossmember and the diff together. -Bill
  10. I've always just used Craftsman combination wrenches, nothing special. Just takes patience, because you will only be able to turn a 6th of a turn at a time and will have to flip the wrench to get the jaws in the right place a lot. I replace those nuts with the 14mm versions they used on the later motors. Same threads, just a smaller outer size so you can get a racheting wrench on them. -Bill
  11. I have found that there are 2 different thicknesses for the EA81 flywheels: one is the same as the EA82 flywheels, and works fine when using the EA82 clutch disc. The other is almost 1/4" thicker than the EA82 flywheel, and when the clutch disc is installed the pressure plate is backed up so far into the throwout bearing that it doesn't clamp the disc and slips like mad. I have run into this problem twice. I always swap the EA82 flywheel, it's just not a lot of extra work and it assures you avoid the above mentioned issue. It also allows you to use XT-6 clutch parts if you want more grab. -Bill
  12. Due to rapidly changing circumstances, I am no longer making lift kits or subaru parts. I have some left in stock, and thats it, when they are gone, they are gone. I have in stock : 1 EA82 6" lift kit- $550 shipped - SOLD 1 EA82 4" lift kit- $450 shipped - SOLD 3 EA82 2" lift kits- $120 Each, shipped -SOLD I have parts to assemble 4-6 more of the 2" kits as well, so there will be a few more of those available. This is the last chance to get a BOSS lift for your EA82, I don't know when, if ever, I will be making more. When they are gone, they are gone. I do, however, have copies of the blueprints for the kits I built available for sale as a download or a paper file in the mail, for $25 each. I have blueprints for: 4" Gen 1 lift kits 3" EA81 lift kits 4" EA81 lift kits 6" EA81 lift kits 2" EA82 lift kits 4" EA82 lift kits 6" EA82 lift kits Call me, (509) 391-5903 or PM me here to buy a lift or blueprints. Thanks -Bill
  13. Get a regular 3.9 dual range tranny, and the ring and pinion from an XT-6 FT4WD trans, in addition to your RX trans... -Use the low range gears from the regular Dual Range. Also the 23 spline diff stubs so you won't need custom axles. -install the XT-6 ring and pinion with the 23 spline stubs into the RX case, using the RX gears. Use the RX center diff because it has the provisions for the D/R selector. Use the RX speedo gear. With 27" tires the speedo will be right on. -Bolt it all up and you will have a sweet trans. Built one just like that for Pooparu. It was crazy to do it in less than 24 hours, but it was worth it. Building the custom tranny with the 23 spline stubs will make it much easier to find axles, wether you go with EA82 or EA81 axles. You could still do the EA82 suspension swap, and I recomend it. All you need are the control arms and axles. I did that on Pooparu's Brat back when it was mine. I also extended the radius rods 1" and plated the living codswallop out of the whole shebang with 3/16" diamond plate. -Bill
  14. Bump, these are still available and still $120 shipped to your door! -Bill
  15. Now available again, my BOSS 3" EA81 lift kits are only $300 plus $30 shipping. These are made with the same high quality as any of my other lifts, and include all the necessary hardware for installation. Steering link not included, and you will have to provide new rear shocks, the same Rancho part number that many use for the 4" lifts also works on the 3" lifts. Shifter linkage and steering linkage will have to be modified. PM me or call (509) 391-5903 with questions or to order a lift. 4" and 6" lifts are also available, with pictures coming soon. -Bill
  16. The vacuum diaphram in the brake booster could be bad, causing your undetectable vacuum leak. Try unhooking the booster hose and capping that port to see if it makes a difference. -Bill
  17. Is it getting expensive yet? When I rebuilt my 85 axles I ended up spending around 3G, and the only upgrade I did was cryo treated 4.88 gears... The rest was all stock replacement stuff. I'd be interested to know what your axles end up costing in the end just for reference. -Bill
  18. Here is a pic from a 3" kit I sold a few years ago, it has basically the same parts, laid out as they are to be installed on the car, with the exception of the mustache bar. Your kit has 2 extra blocks cut from 2x2 that bolt between the body and the mustache bar brackets. Feel free to PM me with any more questions, I should have taken pictures of your kit laid out before I shipped it, so that's my bad. -Bill
  19. If I didn't live so far away from the action I'd be hittin the trails with you guys every run, I'm just not close enough... Always a blast when I do make it over there though. -Bill
