  1. Yes yes exactly that! what kinda rig is that? Those VW hubs would be awesome, talk about crawling, but how durable are they?
  2. I saw a vehicle once, it had 2 driveshafts comin off the t case toward the front, each one went to a mini differential at the wheel. I forget what kinda rig it was, but if you did it this way it would take extreme fab to make it work but i think it would be the best way, but you would have to take out the back seats to make the clearance for the T case in order to gain ground clearance something like this: I think Land Rover might have this setup, but I dont really know, all I know is that it exists and there is one like this in a junkyard near me
  3. psh... Its always more fun to do stuff when you're hammered!
  4. DUDE that trip looked BAD A$$! I want to go on one like that!
  5. dual Holley glass bowl carbs, they were used on late 50's early 60's Ford vehicles, they are single barrel and they look so sweeeeeet! not to mention simplicity, and I see them used in pairs or in 3s on straight sixxes and they look bad asss
  6. I think he meant putting the t case behind the trans and putting the new front diff in the hole made by removing the old fwd diff, but the tricky part is how are you going to get a driveshaft from the t case to the front diff
  7. its going out on Tuesday, I'll have to take it in on monday and have it weighed, then I need to find a box or maybe 3 to package it, this stuff is heavy! I'm painting it today, I will have pics later if the weather permits.
  8. You have PM, it runs, but it will need a fuel pump cuz I need that, and the interior will be stripped. But it can be made kinda drivable, runs like crap right now.
  9. I am going to do the waterproof/rhino lined interior on my 9 inch wagon, just for being easy to clean and simple. For rust proofing, use some sort of preventative coating, then paint it, and the best sound deadening material is lead mats, but there is spray on stuff too
  10. Hey ya'll, I live in the Lower Yakima Valley and I am wonderin if any of you live near by, so who all is in the area? I always love meetin new people
  11. Someone with a lot of knowledge on this is Bratsrus1, jerry did this on his hatchbrat and it works very well. If I recall he machined the spacers out of solid stock.
  12. How much are these gonna cost after the first orders are done? I might be getting a hold of my first EJ and I like this design
  13. lol I thought I had read some dumb stuff till I read that, they weren't even sentences!
  14. Im not an expert, but when I look at that separator on the exhaust port I think it wouldnt be a very good idea to cut much off, I think you would get pressure from one side building into the other and disrupting the exhaust flow. That is what that little wall is there to prevent. I dont think taking a little off could hurt though, I just wouldnt get too dremel happy. Again, I am not an expert so this is just my opinion based on what I can see. -Bill
  15. Pretty much, that is 6 inches of lift on stock 13 inch rims and tires, I will have your lift ready to be shipped by the end of this week guaranteed, had a bit of a material shortage earlier.
  16. I do need an EA81 guinea pig, they appear to be pretty straight forward though when it comes to lifting
  17. B&M t handle shifter from autozone is 12x1.25, it fit prefectly in my wagon with no mods whatsoever
  18. I also found out I need a snorkel that day and I think I cracked a head
  19. I think someone who knows all the differences should post up a thread with pics for the USRM, I think this could help a lot of people
  20. well then for that I would go 4 inch for sure. Like I say before, I have seen 4 inch lifted EA81 with the ac compressor, and I know for a proven fact it can be done, so you'll be able to do it
  21. I dont know what the EJ anti pitch bars are like, but I think all you would have to do is take and splice the end from the EA car that mounts to the body to an end that fits the EJ motor, then bolt it in like its stock
  22. hey sometimes its good to be thorough, makes it easier. Me I just kinda dive in and make it up as I go along, but it works and I like the end result (usually)
