  1. hehe, I was doin that all day yesterday in our driveway and the neighbors I just dont have a camera man
  2. here's my exhaust I ran for a couple weeks till my head hurt every time I got out of my car: you can definitely go a mile, you have more pipe than I did, and I was running 2 inch cherry bombs
  3. well, if you snap a torsion bar, you got the same problem, unless you have a welder and a peice of pipe/tubing just right to fit over the bar. With coils you could make clamps to hold them in the place they go, and limiting straps so you dont destroy your axles with your new articulation
  4. hehe yes I did, but most people are inclined to do EJ motors, and now that Scott in Bellingham is working on carb adaptors for EJ manifolds, thats another route to go if your lookin for inexpensive power, EA81s are pretty tough little motors, but it is harder to get more power from them, but I like them because I'll never ever have to change another timing belt, ever.
  5. eh, only if you want more travel yeah, but you could fab up some sort of shock mount then discharge the struts and do some more creative modding to them and bam you got coil spring A arms and regular any car shocks. If you could get really creative you could incorporate an upper A arm in the front lift blocks, and a spring perch for that matter, and you could do a setup similar to late model independent rigs like toyota trucks and such. But in that case the torsion bar is much simpler
  6. well, thats pretty much what they use on 2wd Toyotas in the 80s, and chevy trucks in the 60s, so I think it could work, might as well try it, and if you dont like it, make A-arms for the front and youll be done with radius rods
  7. Ya know, I just cant ever get over how dinky the 13"rims look on these cars, especially in the back
  8. Just curious, does RAM make their own parts, or do they get them from someone else? If so, who is their supplier?
  9. I had that problem, the alternator was overcharging my system, made everything light up, I replaced it with a rebuilt, I still have the bad one though, if anyone wants it your welcome to it, I have no clue what went wrong, but for the sake of the common good someone can prolly figure it out eh?
  10. I still remember the day Jerry (bratsrus1) came by the place i was workin one day and asked me about my subaru, then he told me about this place, and I have to say, I love it here, there is always something interesting going on, everyone is pretty reasonable most of the time, and there is a lot of knowledge floating around. I never would have known there could be this kind of following for these cars, and I have learned sooooo much from all of you that I probably never couldve figured out on my own. I love seeing everyone elses rides too! Extra bananas for the USMB:banana:      WHOOOHOOO!!!
  11. I dont't know if a modified EA81 bellhousing will work or not, I guess you could try it and see what happens, it might work
  12. To mate the motor to the tranny, youre lookin for a Fat case EA71, right? cuz the EA71 has the starter on top, while the fat case has it on the side like an EA81, and I think it has the same manifold as an EA81 as well. On this I'm not 100%, but it will be hard to swap the engine if the starter holes dont line up I think
  13. you will have to fab up a throttle body adapter, the EA71 intake is 2 inches shorter than the EA81 and EA82 intakes
  14. I would put the spfi on the ea71, but put it in an EA71 car, they weigh less than EA82 cars.
  15. Looks like a rear defroster and a rear wiper switch to me, but its hard to tell
  16. yeah its amazing what putting a bigger carb on those cars will do for the power Now comes the important question: to Nitrous, or not to Nitrous...
  17. Toyota engines are Hemis, but I think the small block chevy is the cheapest way to go, due to the availability of parts for these and the huge aftermarket support. Im a Ford guy myself, but i have respect for chevys too. Also a big thing about the chevy motor, the wiring (or lack there of) will be uber easy.
