Just wanting to know a few things about me subi, #1 on the air cleaner , on pass side there is two hoses that go out of it, one is conected to valve cover and the other just sits there ? is that correct ? #2 the screw on the front of carby on front of car , is that fuel mixture screw ? not sure what it is #3 when driving there isnt alot of pick up and go, but in 4th do 80kms an hour you feel a jolt then the car car kicks in and has alot of power and takes off. any ideas why it does that ? also the temp gauge goes up for a while then goes down and some days it dont move from half at all, can that be thermostat or mixture prob ? any ideas ? thanks again david (australia)

Dvae here in australia, i own a 87 l series wagon, anmd wanting to know how to make some lifting blocks to raise the suspension which just bolts on top of the spring or any sugestions to raise it cheaply. david

How much work is there to do to convert a carby to injection on a ea82 motor and what would i need to do it. Just want that extra power, or unless any one has some ideas of putting on a turbo to fit. david

Got a 1987 Subaru wagon with standard mainfold exhaust and 2inch system after bolt on, looking at putting extractors on with a cat after the bolt on. Any more power will be givin ? Also has hot dog in middle , sounds nice now, hopefully it will sound better, as at the moment standard exhaust off motor resinates , so any sugestions. thanks

Hi guys, another thing, if your cat is half blocked do you use more fuel, power loss no pick up in high speed, and can you hear it resinate when foot is down, ?

I dont know what i am doing but what is the correct way to put 87 wagon into 4wd, do i roll or do i double clutch then change the gear, cause it still sticks trying to get it into normal mode ( taking it out of 4wd) sometimes go in sometimes slam it any ideas

Got it out of 4wd and into 4wd easy now after rolling it, cant find vac leaks , also on pass side air cleaner it has to pipes come out one is connected one isnt are they supposed to be both connected, ? i still have no guts in it, also if i cut out the cat and straight through pipe will it be a bigger noise ? dave

Thanks i will have a look, i havnt really used a 4wd mode in a subi b4, so i roll about 3 5 kms and push clutch in and then cgange the lever ? do i have it in gear when i do it ?

Driving very lightly on gas, and changing in high rev as well, 1st and 2nd and 3rd are ok but 4th and 5th no go , has new clutch in it to so idont know, has 2inch sports system and the cat has been cut out the front and welded after join of pipe and it resinates a little when foot is down and you here the noise from it also when i put into 4wd and lo it changes but dosnt lock in well and have to slam the 4wd lever down real hard to knock it out , could that have something to do with it ?

Hi guys, i have just purchased a 87 wagon 4wd and has a recon motor in car and done about 20000kms , and it just has no go, its using crap loads of fuel about $30 for 200kms and no pickup at all, got timing checked it was 18 degrees out and fuel micture all the way in, got that fixed but still no go any ideas guys ?
