Cool, I found a grey one on Ebay, and put in a bid, I think I also found a dl hatch, but it may be an eagle. I bid on both of them regardless. My son has like 5 of these things, he plays with. So it that a 4x4 zip zap, and how does it drive with the larger tires? I have 2 zip zaps at home with a billion car bodies, and they dont do so well on the carpet.

Yes, he tries to act all "liberal, and politically correct" until you get him in the woods, than the redneck that is genetically encoded into our DNA comes out.

Here was my Heavily modified toy. It actually had 21" in the rear, and 18 in the front. About 25K in mods.

No spark from coil Please look
iluvdrt replied to iluvdrt's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well the coil has voltage on each side like it should. The dizzy is getting voltage. I replaced the amplifier, and still nothing. The bracket is tight and clean against the firewall. Maybe I should make an extra ground wire and attach it to the bracket? I dont know. -

Yuppers. I checked everything, me and my pops ( i had to call in re-enforcements) I dont know. I am sick of messing with it. This has been an ongoing battle for a few years now....every since the new engine. I am tired of messing with it. -

Its a hot wire. I gave up. I am going to sell her as is. I have been fighting this problem for 2 years, but it always ran....just like crap, missing, and sputtering, blowing black smoke. I have replaced the dizzy, "amplifier", all basic Ign. componets, fuses, basically everything in the Ign circut except the ecm. I am at a loss. I am going to sell her cheap (to bad as I have a NEW WRX TMIC with a new Turbo XS BOV I was going to install). and get a carbed or SPFI DR wagon. I am tired of trying to fix my "dependable" car. -

OK, basically what I have found is, is this: 12 volts to new coil 12volts to new dizzy 12 volts to new ignitor Everything has power, is there anything else in this scenario that I am missing? There are 2 plugs coming off of the coil, 1 going to the ignitor, and the second one goes where? The Tach I am guessing, which would have no impact on not having spark right? -

Thanks, I have my FSM's here, and they are basically telling me to look for an unplugged plug (they are all plugged in) or a short in the harness. It doesnt tell me what needs voltage where, and what resistance values for componets. -
I am getting no spark from my coil. I have changed the ignitor, distributor, coil, all fuses, all Ign componets are new, timing belts are good(I dont have a cover so I can see them), Everything. Still no spark. The only thing I didnt change was my ecm. I am getting 12 volts to the coil, dizzy, and ignitor. Why no spark? Thanks.

I just went and got an ignitor from the local J/Y. Same problem, no spark. I know this is a good one, because they said the car ran. What about the distributor pick up, would that do it. Should I change the distributpr? -
I think I found the problem to my spark issue. On the way to work my car is running like crap. I finish work and now it wont start. I am getting 12 volts to the coil, but no spark from the coil. I replaced the coil and still no spark. I am thinking it is the ignitor. Is that the thing under the coil that fixes to the coil bracket? If not what is that....because I broke it.

OK, cool thanks for the help.

Sweet! OK, in short, should I get 12 volts to the coil or the 1.5-2 like I am getting now? Thanks.

So as many of you already know, I have had a bad fuel problem for a while. Missing and blowing black smoke, well I finally tracked it down to the ignition. The spark is cutting out at full boost, and missing. Now all of my major sensors are new, as is the entire ignitioin componets group(coil, wires, plugs etc.), and the timing is at about 22. New timing belts, and I checked to make shure they didnt jump. What I found was the hot wire going to my coil is only putting about 2 volts to the coil. How many is it supposed to get? 12 I am thinking. I am thinking that little rectafier thing under the coil is bad and is restricting the voltage going to my coil. Does that sound right? Could there be anything else cutting out my spark at full boost? 87 ea82t wagon stock boost for now.
