  1. I hope so. I got some 205/75/14 at tires on yoter rims but they dont fit. I need to get my lift now.
  2. Yes, believe me, I am as short on funds as anyone. I am atleast 1` month behind in EVERYTHING, but Ill make it..(better since I organised it:P). Dont kill yourself though trying to get here, I ma sure there will be another one.
  3. You dont need to pull the motor to change the tranny. I did it by myself w/o pulling the motor. You will need something to lift the front of the engine to tilt it towards the back of the car. This makes getting the tranny in a lot easier. Some advice would be to check the rear seal and pilot bearing, make sure there is not a dowl pin in the tranny AND the engine in the same location. I did this and after fighting the tranny to get it in I had to pull it back out to remove the extra dowl. Use a jack on the tranny. There is a little slab sticking down on the trans, a jack there will almost balance out the tranny perfectly. When you pull the pushbutton trans dont forget to plug the vacume hoses that activate it or you will have a vacume leak...Anything else just ask.
  4. My D/R conversion is now complete. After 28 laborous hours, I am done installing my d/r tranny and diff into my 87 gl10 turbo. Everything went as smooth as could be, and she runs great. I tried to fit some 205/75/14 mud tires on her, and as long as I dont turn any corners they fit. I guess I need to get on the ball, and get my allied lift. she needs a little more tlc on some of the small things, but for the most part she is wheeling ready. I took her down to a small rock pile I normally had trouble with, and crawed over them with ease now(well minus the lack of articulation). I am stoked.
  5. Sounds great. I posted this on some local suby forums, and it seems that we will gathering a large crowd of new subys as well. They all have an interest in our old suby's(I dont know why?) but there will be a few STI's, WRX's, some outbacks, and some legacys. This is turning into a pretty big event!
  6. The trails are divided. There are some easier ones, and there are some hard ones. This way there is something for everyone. There is also a "mile of mud" pit that progresively gets deeper. Maybe we could have a "see who goes the farthest" contest. Is your OB an auto or stick shift? There are some inclines where a low range or auto would be good.
  7. TTT OK, only a few weeks to go until the meet. Here is a recap for those whom have missed it. What it is: subaru meet for all models when: memorial day weekend. events start at 10:00am on SAT. 8. OK well after this weekend I changed the timing belts, all the vacume/pcv hoses, pcv valve, fuel filter, plugs, oil, o2 sensor, and air filter. It is still doing it which leads me to believe its the purge control solinoid. This little buger came unplugged on me once and the same symptoms happened. Dealer price is 214$, so Ill try the for sale section here on the board.
  9. As far as the hoses, or the intake gaskets? Ity justb started doing this today after the stereo and headlight work. I did notice that the other day when I topped off my oil I accidentally put about a 1/2 quart to much in. could this be doing it? I haven't really gotten on her in a while since today.
  10. So far the guy has still agreed to let us use the park, so yes. I have yet to go and check it out though. I need another vehicle to go with me in case......
  11. 87 turbo wagon 5 spd gl10 I am once again having the black smoke and stutter problem, it gets worse when boost hits, and it belches black smoke like a freight train. The other day my cel came on briefly, then went off. I tried to pull the codes today and it said nothing. the O2 sensor is about 20k mi new as is the fuel fitler, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coolant sensor, maf. I am only getting about 200 mi per tank, and I am running 89 octane. The timing is about 20 BTDC last time I checked ( a few months). Now I dont know if it coincedence or what but today, I pulled out all of my stereo euipment (amps, cap, eq) and just hooked up the head unit. I installed new headlights(which I removed the charcoal canister from the bracket) , and replaced the blower motor for the heater. I did a good check of all of the hoses on the canister and checked the purge control solinoid(the cause last time) and everything looks fine. It acts like air is getting in past the maf almost. I wish there was a way to bypass all of that ************. I hate this troubleshooting of 1,000,000 hoses B/S. thanks, iluvdrt
  12. TTT Roll call again! post up how things are going and if your still planning on coming to the meet on memorial day weekend. I got all my d/r conversion parts, now all I needis some time to do the conversion. I still havent got the money for the lift, but I found a nice set of rims/tires for it when I get the $$$. We'll see....
  13. Yes, but you will loose a little power depending on what size tire your running. Bigger tires inadvertintly change your gear ratios.
  14. Have you tried Lucus oil yet? That worked pretty good fpor me.
  15. OMGLOLWTFLMAO I hate you. I used to work at a tire shop and I swaer people used to that. That made me laugh so damn hard.
  16. LOL, well you kind of have to feed them and stuff, or .......they die! Any how, I threw in the new t-stat (170) and filled her up from the top radiator hose, then the radiator neck. Ley her warm up and took her out for a hard drive. She did great. I thought thats what it was. Thanks. Cliffs: thermostat fixed the problem
  17. OK that is what I will try then. I will let everyone know sunday. My wife yelled at me and told me to "come home". I told her the garage was my home, but she argued. Thanks, I will do that.
  18. My dad has a 99 legacy sedan with the ej22 and today I did a timing belt, water pump, and front seal job on it. Well, it runs great and at idle runs normal operating temperature, but when you rev it and hold for a few it begins to over heat. I noticed it only holds about 1/3-1/2 gallons of coolant, and the thermostat looks to be rubbing its brace. I think the thermostat isn't opening all the way ( it is original BTW). I did over heat it briefly while on a test drive, but shut if immediantly and within 20 secs it had cooled off, so it didn't get to hot. Also when you rev it, it begins to back flow(coolant runs out of the radiator with the cap not on), which means to me the water pump is pushing more coolant than it can bring in. I bought the belt at Subaru, and the pump at NAPA. It is a new one, not a reman. Can someone please help out here. I need to know why it is overheating. Thanks.
  19. TTT Only a few more weeks (well a month and a half) to go until the meet. Is everyone still game?
  20. My ea82t makes power all the way up to 7k. I have never taken it farther than that though. It pulls hard throughout the entire rpm band.
  21. My JDM ea82t put down 138hp. It has less emissions stuff too.
