ok ive never been in a subaru group before so im in:banana:

I just had the same problem with mine. You need a bigger punch and like a 3-4lb hammer to just knock them out. Luckily I had some help and after I saw how it was done its pretty easy. A brass punch definitely helps to get them back in though. The inner seal can vary depending on ea-82 or 81. Im no mechanic but just from my experience.

FINALLY back on the road the coupe runs n drives awesome. Spencer helped out a lot and now I know how to do this stuff on my own in the future. sooo excited to be drivin my suby again!!!

thanks for the advice and offers for help.Thankfully I got some help from spencer on the bearings now found out i need to replace an axle. hopefully back on the road this weekend.

Im changin the front wheel bearings and the inner seal seams like its melted or stuck somehow I pretty much sraped it all out and tried punching it out from the outer side but it wont budge. Am I doing something wrong. I also tried to punch out from the inner side out. any suggestions?

Anyone in Vancouver,Wa have a little time to help me out with my 83 coupe? It feels like an axle or somethin went out when i accelerate my you can here a slight knocking and it feels like the front right wheel is about to come off, it shakes really bad. I feel kinda dumb cus there supposed to be pretty easy to replace but still dont wanna do it without some ones help and not sure exactly if thats whet the problem is. I took it to the closest place to home, cus I dont wanna drive it any further than i have to, and the guy said i need a tranny rebuild cus where the axles go into the tranny both sides are kinda loose. i think hes full of ************ but im really broke and hopin its not gonna be too expensive. Does anyone have any other ideas or some time to stop by and check it out? Ill provide the beer and a few bucks for some suby love.
