  1. From the Fumoto site: "Warning! For users under extreme conditions: If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles such as farm tractors and logging equipment under extreme environment (i.e. corn fields, brush areas), it is recommended that a hose clip as shown below be used for extra safety and security. The hose clip, which can be purchased at any hardware stores, will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times." The hose clip size is 5/8". Between the locking mechanism, and the hose clip, the valve isn't going to open. If you hit something hard enough to break the valve off, chances are the oil pan is going to get wrecked too.
  2. 65 - 78, depending which manual you're reading, or which know-it-all on the internet you believe.
  3. Nissan 720 bench seats have a cutout for the 4WD lever, but I doubt it would line up.
  4. Subaru issued a recall for that exact problem on 2002-2003 Impreza wagons. I'm not sure if the recall also covers Outbacks. It's recall #WVD-14.
  5. Check out my avatar. That's my 02 Outback Sport. I made sure to clean all the oil out of the spark plug well before removing the plugs. The plugs were fine, no oil had leaked past the threads. I replaced the plugs (NGK) and wires (Rallitek) anyway, as that's what I was doing when I discovered the leaks. I added a can of Stop Leak additive to my next oil change, and I've been very careful to not overfill when changing the oil. 8,000 miles later, I checked the seals, and no more leakage.
  6. 1. Cut a hole in your hood. 2. Fabricate custom header. 3. Cherry Bomb pokes through hole in hood, like a diesel stack.
  7. Happy birthday old man.

  8. When it's done, I want it to look like this: http://4wheeldrive.about.com/library/uc/ucAzza.htm I finished stripping the sound deadening out of the interior last night. This weekend, I hope to have the floor pan painted/bedlinered, and get the 1 bucket seat I have cleaned up and installed. After that, the next step is to make cardboard templates for the aluminum dash. More photos soon.
  9. I opened up this thread expecting to find a pictures of a Porsche 911 Turbo engine in an EA82. I'm so disappointed.
  10. Yeah, the "snow finder" center lights are really rare. They only work when it's snowing, and they emit a special type of light that allows you to see through snowflakes, even in a blizzard. I heard there were only 15 made, and I've only ever seen one.
  11. Portland housing prices are just f'n ridiculous. Thanks California! Good luck in Wisconsin.
  12. My new project. It runs and drives, but needs a lot of work. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3156092 Eventually, SAS, a bobbed bed, full cage and some lights. Right now, I need to finish the interior, and get some new tires.
  13. And another lifted wagon... http://www.yotatech.com/f5/crazy-off-road-datsun-square-back-pics-60408/

  15. Maybe this has been posted before, but just in case it hasn't... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/792800
  16. OBD 1 or 2? With wiring harness or without? $250 is a steal no matter what the answers are to these questions.
  17. That sucks! I would advise you to start calling around to tow companies. I know I've sold a Subaru without a title to a tow company before. No yard in Portland will accept a car without a title, but the law is different outside Multnomah Co. Good luck, I hope you find it in one piece.
  18. One month later, and not much has changed. I sold the WRX LSD after I was sent front WRX sedan axles rather than rear WRX wagon axles by a vendor on NASIOC. I just got tired of trying to cobble some used parts together that may or may not be compatible with my car. I took the car to Wentworth Subaru, as they are two blocks from where I work. They replaced the right rear wheel bearing, and then said the noise was coming from the rear differential. So, I had them replace the rear diferential with a brand new one from SOA. Big $$$$$. I picked the car up yesterday, and the original noise/vibration is still there. Took it back to them this afternoon, and I was told to come back Monday, and they would take care of it. I've paid almost $2000 to have them throw parts at the problem, and nothing has been fixed. Hopefully, this problem will be resolved, as I just bought the car there last November, and I have only put 8,000 miles on it, mainly commuting and short trips on the weekend.
  19. If you still have the factory spark plug wires on it, they should be marked 1-4, or at least they are on my EJ25.
  20. Interesting. The Subaru OEM struts I just bought are stamped KYB, and are also black. A bit cheaper than KYBs, but not less than half the price!
  21. Nice! Looks like the stripper did a great job. What are the plans for the roll cage?
  22. S-K brand worked for me. I don't remember if it was 17 or 18. Have fun changing those plugs. I guarantee at least one bloody knuckle.
  23. My 02 Impreza has the exact same problem you described, except it's an auto rather than manual. The idle is rough and inconsistent, and fluctuates 750-1000. The problem improved after I installed the air filter correctly, with all of the clamps on the air box properly latched. You think buying a used Subaru from an established dealership, they would check these kind of things... But then again, it came with 2 of the 4 tires having small punctures and nails in them, as well as a blown front strut, and a bad rear diff. My solution is to tell your girlfriend she doesn't need AC. It's Oregon, not Florida. That, or go to the dealership, and do what I did with my tires full of nails. Don't leave until they make things right, even if it means having an arguement with the manager right on the sales floor on a busy day. It's not what I wanted to do, but what I had to do.
