  1. As far as I know, they are the original axles. The ATF was clean and at the right level when I checked it a week ago. I'm assuming it's not the brakes because they had just been done when I bought the car. I'm also pretty familiar with the sound of a stuck caliper. It definitely doesn't pull to one side, either driving or braking. It feels like the noise/vibration is right in the center of the car. I'll check the wheel bearings this weekend, as I'm replacing the front passenger side strut on Saturday.
  2. I have a 2002 Impreza Outback Sport, 4EAT, 96,200 miles. I've noticed a sound/vibration coming from the front lately. It feels like something in the drivetrain is going. It feels like something is dragging during acceleration and braking, accompanied by a very low even huuuuuummmmm sound. The ATF was replaced a few months ago when the dealership repaired an old recall on the "park rod lever", or something like that. I know it's not anything to do with the brakes, so maybe it's a wheel bearing or something in the front diff? Any speculation or knowledge is much appreciated. I'm not going to be able to daignose or fix it on my own, I just want to have a better understanding of the problem before I attempt to have someone else fix it.
  3. Holy crap! "Uhhh...don't connect those wires 'til they're all good and tangled. No no no, it needs to look like a rat's nest. And make sure to just leave the wires you don't hook up hanging there."

  5. Hey Team CF, you need this: http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/car/753359374.html It is WRB blue, so you could put some Subaru badges on it.
  6. There's a pretty clean silver turbo sedan with a 5 lug swap/WRX hood scoop that's always parked outside Wentworth Subaru in Portland. I'm guessing that it belongs to one of the techs. I'll see if I can get some info/photos the next time I walk by.
  7. So the mud pit will be Saturday from 3-5 PM, and Rally/Auto-X on Sunday? No mud pit at all on Sunday?
  8. I had EMPIs on my 87 GL that were absolute crap. I had Cardones on my 95 Legacy that were great. Luck of the draw.
  9. AWESOME! +1 for wheeling with seatbelts.
  10. Best Subaru ad ever! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=20926&cat=500
  11. +1 for hammer. Not a fun job, but the process will give you a lot of insight how everything goes together. (After you have smashed it to bits. )
  12. Obviously EA, maybe 71? http://www.beemergarage.com/photos29.html
  13. Most men willl tell you this. Sometimes it is true, sometimes it isn't.
  14. Granted "genuine part" status by Subaru, and a great idea. Fram makes something similar, but if it's anything like their oil filters... http://www.fumotousa.com/ https://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=F105
  15. I had this problem with a 95 Legacy. I had spare keys cut from the VIN at a Subaru dealership. The new keys would not turn in the ignition. I compared it to the old one, and it was way off. Not the dealerships fault, it's just that the key and ignition were very worn, so only the worn key would start the worn ignition. The parts guy at the dealership roughed up the new key, and then it worked fine. I hope this helps!
  16. Anyone know if it's 50% off on the 4th? I'd call, but the people that answer the phones there are never any help. " Yeah, we gots sum old Suby-roos."
  17. "I also don't hold up traffic(I do drive fast most of the time) and only coast when I can." THANK YOU! I'm tired of getting stuck behind hypermilin' fools that take 10 city blocks to accelerate to 25 mph. Makes me want a push bar...

  19. Cometic. http://www.cometic.com/sportcompact.aspx And why... http://www.cometic.com/aboutus.aspx Get some ARP studs while you're at it: http://www.arp-bolts.com/Catalog/Catalog.html 260-472 is the part # for the SOHC EJ25 Very useful info: http://www.arp-bolts.com/Tech/TechInstall.html
  20. The Legacy sedan on the right... does it actually ride that low, or is it slammed due to pilferage of suspension parts? More lifted pics, please.
  21. The wiring diagram for Hella driving lights is confusing to say the least. I'd recommend not wiring the lights into your high beams, and just put a switch on the dash. KC's wiring diagram is what I used to wire my Hellas. http://www.kchilites.com/faq/instructions/4-PoleRelayDiagram.pdf
