  1. I have recently picked up a "3rd Gen Brat"...no flaming, I have a Gen 2 and know that the baja is not a brat but I love it I plan on washing them both and getting a pic of them together...anyways, the only thing left to fix on my 03 Baja is the emergency brake cable. It is broke on the drivers side at the wheel. I'm curious on whats involved in this process. Thanks for any info. Ken
  2. I have found a couple on ebay that I'm looking into but wanted to get your guys expert oppinion on them first, and if there is a different place thats cheaper and better than please let me know. 3. Does the 03 baja have the outside temp on the tach gauge side of the gauge cluster? Ken
  4. I have a 97 Impreza outback sport and was wondering if there was a way to fit the 98 interior, specifically the center arm rest console in the 97? And if so, does anyone have a gray one lying around? Let me know, thanks. Ken
  5. Thanks for all the info guys, now I just have to find a good used one at a decent price. Thanks Ken
  6. I am looking to get a Impreza mid 90's with a 2.2 in it and a manual 5speed awd. What can I expect for gas mileage around town and on the hwy? Thanks for the info to come. Ken
  7. Have looked under the hood trying to find the FWD box to put the fuse in it but am having trouble finding it. This is 94 impreza with the 1.8l motor. Any ideas? Ken
  8. Giving the FWD mode a shot today and I will report back. Thanks, I love this board and you guys as resources. Thanks again Ken
  9. Just talked with my friend and she said that the front tires are about half tread of what the rear are. She said that the shifting problem was happening at lower speeds at first. She bought all four tires new a year ago, matching. She has records of the tranny fluid being changed about 10k miles ago. also, there are no flashing lights on the dash. so, what should we do(grossgary)? Ken
  10. One of my friends has an early 90's subaru impreza with an automatic transmission and on the freeway it will down shift on its own. I think the tranny is going and gonna be gone soon :-\ What is a reasonable price for someone to pull and rebuild and then put back in? I just want to get a ball park so we know that they are not ripping us off. Thanks for the help. Ken
  11. well, all is well. Apparently seattle has a law that you can't park within 5ft of a driveway even though there are no signs of the such. Anyways, a neighbor called the cops who then towed the brat. Thank you guys for being there in my time of need. Mods, you can delete this thread. Thanks again all.Ken
  12. Well, just got a phone call from my mom who is visiting a friend in seattle Wa. and they came outside today and the Brat was gone There are some distinct things about this one: -1985 dark blue with light blue interior with hawaiian print seat covers -White low canopy(gem top) with no seal around the sides and top of roof -No tailgate top trim -It has a different rear bumper that is just a bar that goes across the back with a flat spot welded in with a ball. -White wagon wheels -Oregon liscense plate with the green tree in the middle Please keep on the look out for it, and if anyone has any info, please call me asap. Thanks Ken 541-301-8252
  13. Heres my baby... 84 Brat 4 inch lift, 27x8.5x14's, rear disk, center light, 98k on body, ej22 conversion, 5speed D/R, 81 steering wheel, high top console, power steering, original seats and carpet in bed...shes a peach!
  14. Thanks for all the info, and the "delayed Engine" fix. I had subaru try to find the problem and they couldnt figure it out and it cost me $125. I post on here and its solved by you guys and it cost nothing. I love this message board, and SuberDave, if you are at WCSS8, I want to shake your hand. Thanks Ken Keep the mileage reports coming. I have tuned up my car and have a new O2 sensor in there. I figure I'm getting around 22mpg.
  15. Superdave, your a genius! Thats exactly why it didnt shut off. I unplugged the fan and bam, it shut off imediatly. So what kind of diode do i get and from where? Thanks for your help. Ken
  16. so how can I fix that, and what kind of mileage are you getting? Ken
  17. John did the swap for me, and I have a question for others who have done the swap. 1. Do others have the same lag time that I do when I turn the key off and it takes 2 seconds for the engine to respond? 2. in the mornings I have been having a problem with it starting. It will hesitate and try to fire, and just sputter for a few seconds and then it will catch and idle up. Only happens in the morning after it has been sitting for 8 hours or so. and finally... 3. I just checked my fuel economy and I have been getting around 22-23 mpg around town driving........is that what you guys have been getting? Thanks in advance for your responses......cant wait till WCSS8 Ken
  18. I have John working on some stuff for me and have been trying to call him and pm him for the last week to no avail. I did however get a pm from his wife today right around the same time you saw his name on line saying that John is in the hospital with an infection from an abseced(sp) tooth. So thats why he has not been responding in the last week to me anyways. Just thought I would let you know. Ken
