The speed of your PC won't make any difference, the speed of your connection is where it's at. Get some software to ping the time to the eBay server that the particular item you are interested in is located, this way you know the minimum time required to get your bid in before the end of the auction. A skilled hand with a dedicated fibre line should easily have a 2-3 second advantage over someone with a DSL or Cable connection. That being said, if the person with the cable/DSL bids higher than the person with the fibre connection, it won't matter how fast the fibre connection is. Psychologically, auctions aren't about how good of a deal you can get, they are about winning the auction.

I check my MPG each week when I fill up and I use the same pump at the same station each time. I'm averaging 28-31 MPG in my '90 Legacy driving ~80 MPH to work and back each day (26 miles highway, 6 miles in city), if it's too hot out for the vent to blow cool air just off of my cruising speed I will turn on the AC. 179,000 km. on the odometer, original O2 sensor as well. It seems you are pretty much right on the MPG you should be getting.

At first glance I thought it was a Ford Escort, sure looks like one. A thorough inspection (what porcupine said) and a good, hard run on the highway should let you know if the new(er) engine and transmission are up to snuff. $1300 is a pretty decent price it it runs nicely. Oh yea, ask the guy if he has ever heard of punctuation.

When I was searching for an AWD transmission for my '90 Legacy all I could find were FWD transmissions. I see you aren't far south of the Canadian border, you may want to check the ads in the Western Canada area for a transmission. I freighted a FWD transmission ~900 km for $100 (they weigh 220 lbs. if you need to calculate shipping cost), you may be able to find a decent shipping deal.

Ahhh, a stud. He said it was a bolt so I figured it had a head on it. My bad. I can see a stud having a nut welded on from the top and being plenty strong to get the stud out, it's been done plenty where I work. It's even easier with stainless as you can run a colder pass and stainless is much stronger than carbon grade steel. If you are trying to drill out stainless, try to find drill bits that are rated for cast iron. If they can drill cast iron, stainless will be no trouble at slow speed with cutting oil.

I've been a welder for the last 11 years and can honestly say that there is no way to get a nut on the head of a bolt of this diameter that would be stronger than the original head. The trouble would be that any decent penetration would practically cut all the way through the bolt. You can continuously soak it with good penetrating oil as previously suggested until the engine is out. Once it is out, cut or grind 2 sides of the remaining bolt head flat and get a wrench on it and lightly tap on the bolt head as you apply torque to the wrench. You can also cut a groove across the head and use a large flat bladed square stem screwdriver (the one that allows you to slide a 6mm wrench over the metal end) and tap on the head of the screwdriver while someone else applies torque to the wrench. If these fail, you may be left with cutting it flush and drilling out the bolt.

I drive a 17 km. long straight stretch of road to work each day and last winter was the first time I had to drive it due to moving out of the city. It was also the first winter that I had my Subaru. The number of 4x4 trucks in the ditch EASILY outnumber any other vehicle that I saw each day. One day there were a total of 13 vehicles in the ditch and 11 of them were 4x4 trucks. It doesn't matter how good your 4x4 or AWD system is, once you hit a couple feet of snow on a sharp downwards slope such as the side of a ditch, there is no way you are getting out under your own power again. I also have to say that I agree with the crowd that is saying that winter tires can't be beat. Try them once in the winter, you'll never be satisfied with all-season tires again. -
Want to calculate border fees? http://www.myborderpro.com/2006/ http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html There is currently a lawsuit against UPS for their 'fees' for bringing items into Canada from the US. USPS may be a little slower, but shipping to Canada via USPS is MUCH cheaper than any courier.

Yes, they are ASA. That's what I thought after mounting them, the chrome really matches well. The handles are all stock and you can purchase them on eBay as well if you want them on your vehicle. I will be installing a stainless 1/4" perforated grill and lower dam (if I can figure out how to get it to mount), it should also go well with the chrome accents. Once all my little tweaks are completed I will have to focus on finding a EJ22T to top it all off.
