sorry, it is a outback 2000. 65k original miles. recalls up to date [o2 sensor] my mechanic defined what it "said" as if it wasnt getting fuel, which may explain why the lowgas lite came on,even tho the tank is half full. he showed me the puter reader screen but I got no number, also said it may work itself out in a few days. would water in the gas do this? is there a list of code meanings somewhere?

I got the check engine lite on the dashboard. At first it was lighted up with the low gas lite, but I pulled over, restarted the moter and just the check E lite remained. Went home, unplugged the battery to reset, restart, all gone. Now this afternoon,Check E lites up again, so mechanic pulls code, it says fuel sensor or something like that, but it runs fine. Can this be a new fuel cap? thanks B

Bingo,my mechanic just gave me the bad news, and, coming from the drivers side rear cylinder, here we go....ahh ,at least it was a good 7 months trouble free . He put the GM head gasket stuff that looks like wafers or plugs that dissolves and crystallizes in about a week.He say if this dont do it,nothing can, best he`s ever seen, etc. Looks like Im gonna call up 1 800 subaru and say wtf?

I got a 2000 outback 50k,that about a couple months ago I noticed ,was losing coolant level from the reserve, but couldnt find any leaks,so I topped it off. Then yesterday found the little puddle of green stuff. Checked it again, and the level was near empty in the reserve, and found where it was collecting, but dont know the exact source. Itll stop dripping when the motor is off,it isnt a 24/7 thing as far as the cardboard test will tell. It seems to be getting around the center area behind the skidplate where there are a couple bolts below a finned object [part of transmission?]of which is getting wet wih green stuff. What are the possible sources?,because i cant see any indication from above where this is coming from?? thanks

A friend of mine is a used car dealer, honest guy, says subies are fantastic. But he tells me not to go over 60mph in the rain because the ecu for the awd is apt to lock a wheel for a split second, sending you into an unrecoverable spin.I imagine this is an extremely rare occurence, but he says he seen it happen 2 times on the track and once on a highway. Has anyone heard of this,or under what conditions/mods,etc?? thanks:headbang:

is there such a thing?? my rear pads look like they are starting in on the yellow layer. fronts ,I cant tell, but they appear pretty good .calipers look a good distance away as opposed to the rear. of course I`m too lazy to pull the wheels off,so I `m using a maglite thru the spokes at an angle just barely making it out.:-\

So I read that all 2000 outback has keyless entry as standard fare. I cant get this one into programming mode ,even after disconecting the battery and turning the Ign. to drain the current. I get no horn after the 10 or more "on offs". Is there a fuse or something I should be looking at,or see if I even have a keyless remote system onboard?? thanks:headbang:
