On my 85 Gl-10's old engine I had the timing tension pulley shatter and drive for a month with the weirdest noise untill the damn thing chewed through the timing cover and fell right out. Never effected the performance.

Are driveaxles for an Automatic and standard different (85)? I swapped my engine for one with half the KM's and swapped the front axles from a standard to my auto. There is 1 or 2 little knocks when turning corners but the newer c.v.'s are low K's and should be way better. Is this because the axle lengths are different and one side is too stretched and the other too squished or just bad c.v.'s? Ideas? Thanks.

Where is it. How hard to do it. The idle is at 650-700 in drive (its automatic) 750-800 in park. I'm sure it should be 900 in park and 800 in Drive so I would like to adjust it. Thanks.

What about the ground from the radiator? I can't find one. I guess the P/O felt he didn't need that particular important wire.

I just dropped another EA-82 in my 85 wagen. This one has half the KM.'s of the previous engine but I have a cooling issue. On the hottest day of the summer I brought my wagen home for the first time with her temp. skirting just below the red. I already pulled the thermostat. Is this the electronic fan? It doesnt seem to come on when the engine is hot. Is this fan part of the A/C? Anyone ever bypass to make it manual switch? Should I flush the rad? Thanks
