  1. Interested in a Legacy RS Type RA rear fascia?
  2. Well I've been driving around on the justy brakes for a few days now and I can't feel a difference at all, they seem to be working great! Hopefully I can get a handle sorted out soon. I'll get a pic of the underside of the hitch when the rain clears up
  3. Guess who has rear e-brakes on his Brat? This guy does. Just need a handle now!
  4. And here we are, ready to install. There's another plate not pictured that goes over top of the three mounting bolts to give them a bit more pressure over the backing plate, I cut it out of the stock brat backing plate.
  5. Golly I've been productive lately
  6. feeling pretty good about this!
  7. So I'm still working on the ebrake stuff at the workshop at my work, but at home I'm building a hitch bumper. Just something simple. The rear most mounts go to the stock bump bolt holes, the plate in the center goes to the bracket the fuel tank bolts to to support the tongue weight, and the front mounts bolt between the mustache bar mounts and the frame. I've probably way overbuilt it but better safe the sorry. I'll be towing at most 1500lbs, probably more like 1000. Remember the front brakes have been upgraded to GM 1/2 ton pickup brakes and it's got an EJ22
  8. Same reason there's no shaft on the CV, it's a spare assembly I'm using for mocking this up, I threw the whole thing into the parts washer so I could handle it without getting covered in goo.
  9. I'm not sure why no one has done this conversion before
  10. This really looks like it's going to work. The bolt holes aren't quite right, but I've machined up a few spacer rings that true it up perfectly so I can drill out the bolt holes. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Drums are the same size so you can reuse the stock brat drums.
  11. Well my chevy drum brake conversion wasn't going very well, so I started looking at other options. Picked up some Justy rear drum brakes today and it looks like it's going to be exceedingly simple to get them to bolt on! As far as I can tell so far it looks like I only need to build a tolerance ring and drill one new hole in the backing plate Rear ebrake here I come!
  12. Yea we're going to most likely baffle it as I'm running EFI A problem might be that I removed all the emissions nipples off my tank when I fixed it a few years ago so all I have is inlet, outlet, fill and fill vent, so I don't think it'd be good for a stock setup with the charcoal canister
  13. Honestly I'd use a small propane heater, electric heaters are pretty much useless. especially for that much space that poorly insulated.
  14. We're not sure yet, I gave him my old tank 2 days ago, so he's in the process of figuring it out now. We're hoping somewhere in the $250 range, about the same as a new OEM tank if they were still around, but it's going to come down just cost of materials and time it's going to take him to make them.
  15. My fabricator is building me a new gas tank for my Brat, would anyone be interested in getting one made up if the price was right? They'd be made of aluminum, stock hookup but might be a slightly reduced capacity (save a lot of labour by not having it wrap perfectly around the diff) What kind of price would they have to be?
  16. So my fuel tank has started weeping gas again (lined it 2 years ago) so I talked to the guy who did my widebody on my Impreza and he says he can make me a new gas tank for not a ridiculous amount of money... I'm going to pull the tank tomorrow and give it to him for a template, but in the meanwhile I still need to be able to drive the car to work and such, so I picked up a generator gas tank 4.5 Gallons, just welded up a little mounting bracket that bolts to the stock seat bolt holes, should be plenty strong enough. I may throw some junk on top of it though, I don't think it's STRICTLY legal...
  17. Haha good eye, it is indeed. I was just checking it for sizing at this point, looks like it should work out pretty well. Just have to build a hub to mount the drum on.
  18. Why break a habit? GM rear brake conversion has begun.
  19. Woo car runs WAY better now, O2 sensor helped but what really helped was finding the cracked hose on the fuel pressure regulator! Can't wait to see what kind of gas mileage I get now. Still dies when its stone cold though, can't figure that one out.
  20. Project d'jour.... Put a belt tensioner on my alternator belt! It's just temporary until I figure out something a little more elegant but it's fixed the belt squeal I was getting. Also finally welded in an O2 sensor bung and installed that, hopefully will help my gas mileage a bit...
  21. Yea I read your thread already, lots of good info on there. was just hoping to figure something out without doing a disc brake swap
