  1. Just by chance did you switch the crank gear? IIRC the OBD2 will have multiple tabs for the Crank angle sensor instead of the 4 or so that OBD1 has. just a thought. I was at my wits end with this hatch i got but then i found a small glitch i had overlooked, man is it fun to drive. Cheers R.
  2. Hey i have an ea81 1986 hatchback i have swapped over the 2.2 out of a legacy cut down the harness wired it up and it runs great aside from a sputter i get at WOT almost like it cuts out 2 cylinders. I know i am getting fuel and i am using a surge tank so that is all well and good. This one has me kinda stumped if anyone has had a similar issue help would be awesome. Thanks Rob.
  3. Are you getting fuel? I know my surge tank needed to be primed before the FI pump would work to get fuel to the engine.
  4. Fiance and i will be there in the 91 legacy with 2.5 hybrid might bring the GL500 too just for around town riding.
  5. This is my legacy i paid $50 for it 2.5 years ago it had a rod knock and 198,000 miles on it since then i have painted it multiple times, Replaced the engine once, swapped 1 transmission, replaced the wrecked drivers rear door and recently upgraded to 2000 legacy GT duel piston front brakes and 16" wheels. I also have a VLSD rear diff for it just waiting for the time to install it. From then till now. Just yesterday it rolled over to 229,000 miles Soon to install a front brush guard/light bar and rear bucket seats. Cheers R.
  6. You can talk to Bratsrus1 he did an impreza 1.8 swap into his hatch with a 3.7 5 speed out of an rx and gets 38.4 MPG. Just my two cents. Cheers R.
  7. Things are happening i have been in Job corps for the last 3 months and won't be out till the 29th of june. so ther wont be anything ready for the show this year but next year shall be epic. Cheers R.
  8. I really cant wait to go again. I complete at CJCC on june 29th so that should be plenty of time to get things in order . Cheers R.
  9. Hey Jeff, I had a good time last weekend wouldn't mind going up again if there is an extra seat. Maybe even cut up a wiring harness or two. Cheers R.
  10. Thanks GD i tried that still nothing though. I have tried all sorts of combinations to get it unstuck, pulling on the shift lever wile the car is moving, pulling on it while the clutch is in and the car is moving and not moving, pulling on it under load wile slowing down and accelerating still nothing. I am going to get under it today and see if the linkage is binding up. Cheers R.
  11. hey everyone the gfs hatch went into 3rd gear the other day and will not come back out any ideas on how to get it out? Yes i know "just swap in a 5 speed" that is the plan down the road but i am going away to school and can't do it right now but any help is greatly accepted. 1984 EA81 Hatch 4sp D/R bone stock never had any problems with the trans till now. Cheers R.
  12. you can build the SVX engine to put out quite a bit of HP throw a supercharger kit on it and some other work and get close to 500hp out of it. Cheers R.
  13. Well i am happy to say that we made it there and back the brats 304 mile maiden voyage was great fun. The brat was a big hit and this years WCSS was amazing as always tons of cool people and cars cant wait till next year. Now the tear down begins to do some harness stripping, build the trans (going 5 speed) then start working on the T tops and bed Cheers R.
  14. EJ20H Into my gen 3 coupe/brat. and left it left hand drive... Cheers R.

  20. Tall Welder sad to hear that i would try to get a ride though its always fun just being there . I am buttoning up the brat its driving well so i think the weekend will go just fine i can hardly wait. Cheers R.
  21. OK so i was able to get a cluster from a 96 legacy outback and i used the speedo and the tach from it with success the speedo works and the tach works so i made them fit in the ea housing. Now there is a plug for the speedo with a black and a white wire those went to the VSS on the trans then there is the ignition hot and the ground for the speedo both hooked up, The two other screws are marked SP the other C4 so i assumed the SP meant speed so i hooked up a wire and ran it to the wire i miss labeled as Speed sensor for the ECM and the speedo stopped working... So i called it a night and now looking at the Pinout again i realize i was looking at the wrong plug i had it connected to the (ISC Valve Closed) wire GAH so tomorrow i am going to try the right wire on the ECM and hope that it works. the speedo and tach work so this wire to the ECM is the last part to get done . If this looks right or wrong to anyone please let me know but it seems pretty simple. THANKS EVERYONE!!!
  22. Ok heading out to work on the brat for (crosses fingers) the last time before the show then its all systems go for testing it out for the next few days. Final list Mount bumper swap out bad rear drive line hook up VSS/ almost Cheers Yall R.
  23. ok thanks GD i will try that i am going to go the the JY today and snag me a speedo head from a newer legacy. On the 12v thing the pin out i have says it has 12v and when i test it it has 12v i have not hooked power to it its already got it. Cheers R.
  24. Well i have the VSS from the 4eat i unscrewed it and used a cable type speedo i still have the VSS and i suppose i could live without a speedo for the show or i could go to the JY and pull the speedo out of a newer subaru that runs on the VSS and make it fit in my cluster. I saw a thread around here someplace edrach i think did it. Now its just the two wires one is a ground and one is a hot? IIRC i can get the speedo i need from 96 and newer right? Thanks for all the help everyone Cheers R.
