  1. ok i will make something work but as for the wire on the ECM the diagram says speed sensor 12+ but if i unhook the wire the engine idles up to 1000 RPM or so. reconect it and the engine idles down. do i just tap one wire from a reed swithc to the and the other side to ground? Cheers R.
  2. i don't have the money to buy something i want to make something solder some thing up with some simple electronics. Thanks though Cheers R.
  3. Is there any way to rig up a dummy VSS to the EJ ECM. my EJ20H keeps going into limp mode when boost kicks in then i get a 4K RPM engine cut out after hitting boost a couple times. Turbo Gurus Pleas help me. And the reed switch in the stock cluster from my car is not working i would just like to make a dummy VSS to hook up to the ECM so it gets its pulses will run fine. Cheers R.
  4. The filler is at the top by the firewall for lack of money i cut the elbow and put a small hose between it so it was level with the rad and it is the highest point so i just filled it like normal. You could have a rad place braze a new filler on the side of it. but like i said no money lol. yes it was a stock subaru rad. this car is long gone BTW RIP Tiny What it looked like the day befor the last wheeling adventure. Cheers R.
  5. im not to concerned it will be getting ripped back apart after the show anyways its pretty much in mock up stage right now so it can be at the show id like to get best project car that would be cool. Cheers R.
  6. Thanks guys. The car will be at the show but i warn you it is not pretty... well it is to me but it's mine. I think i am going to call this project scrap brat because everything on this car is from another car with the exception of the BMC i got that new but everything else is used from other cars. Cheers and thanks for the support. Cheers R.
  7. i did it on my old lifted ea82 i had no scoop but a massive fan in the hood the pulled hot air from the engine bay worked well. Cheers R.
  8. I will be bringing a Mini fridge that i am airbrushing up in Monster Subaru rally colors probably be asking 50 for it. And i will also have all of the Subaru NOS parts i have left all will be make offer with the exception of a few bits. i also have 3 XT6 aluminum wheels with bad tires i will bring if someone wants them say 25 takes them. Cheers R.
  9. I just want to say this is what i look forward to the most every year and you guys just make it better and better every year. THANKS R.
  10. UPDATE!!!! Big thanks to subardave for tips on the charging system got that fixed this morning stupid simple fix. Then spent all day working on making the brakes work finaly got them all hooked up and bled so now it not only goes but stops too! this is one happy camper. Tomorrow i hook up the VSS to the ECM and put the cluster back in the dash then remove carpet because of this issue... Long story short was test driving checking stuff in the cab when suddenly a wild gate appeared i could not stop fast enough so instead of destroying the front of the car i oped for the ditch the car got a little wet but she is safe and sound let the burning commence:rolleyes:. Cheers R
  11. Yea but an ATV is way lighter than a subaru so if you drove on the road to much to fast or cornered hard they might not stand up to the abuse. and make it unsafe for the road. Cheers R.
  12. Ok so i tried running a jumper from the Pos side of the battery to the smaller of the two wires on the plug (a black with white stripe) and nothing then the other (a larger white wire) and nothing. unplugged it and tested with the multimeter on both polls still nothing. Then the main wire on the top of the alt that goes to the battery it showed 11 volts being just the battery. think i could just have a bad alt? i tested it it autozone but i have had alt test ok before and do the same. i do have a known good early legacy alts i can swap a plug on and try it. Cheers R. On a side note I need to hook up the VSS of the cluster to the ECM so i stop getting cut off when driving can anyone tell me what wire it is for sure coming off the cluster? and what wire or plin on the cluster is for the tach so i can run the ECM tach wire to it. I know "hook it to the old coil wire... thats all long gone im going off the back of the cluster now. Any help is good help sorry for the typos and run ons just tired. Cheers Cherrs R.

  14. my guess here is when you rolled the battery hit the hood and grounded out that caused the main fuisable link to blow thus no power to the car. IIRC the Fusable link box is on the passenger side under the hood the links are just wire fuses and they plug in should be 3 or 4 of them. Cheers R.
  15. I am actually thinking there might not be a keyed Hot to the alt. like you said the jumper or exciter wire is missing i will test that next time i work on it. When i tested the alt with a VM it didn't have anything coming off it. Cheers R.
  16. Hey guys the show is just about here and i have run into an issue on the brat for some reason i am not getting a charge from the alt. i had it tested and it passed, but when you remove one of the battery cables the engine just dies.it has grounds from engine to battery and battery to car but still just dies. Specs. EJ20H Auto 4eat AWD The harness is the complete Legacy harness that came with the engine/Trans ANY info would really help it going to be cutting it close getting her to the show this year. Cheers R.
  17. Well i am having an issue with the charging system the alt. checks out and the engine is grounded to the body and to the battery but it wont charge the battery and if the battery is unhooked when the car is running it dies instantly anyone have any ideas? Cheers R.
  18. I have a 32-36 Weber DGAV converted to DGEV (water to electric choke) not seized needs cleaned up. i am asking $50 and will bring it to the show if not sold before. cheers R.
  19. Not sure the specs are 14psi but i don't have a boost gauge. Yea bill did great on that skech. I would like to get a single piece drive line for it after i go manual. Cheers R.
  20. thanks Nipper i saw that. Long taken care of lol Cheers R.

  21. IT LIVES!!!! I drove it today just a little because all i have is the ebrake to stop with at the moment. It has great power and torque but the acceleration kinda sucks. my 5 speed legacy is quicker from a stop. So needless to say after the show the 4eat is getting 86ed and a 5 speed in a its place. As for the FP it is working great it should have no problem being as its off a 2.7L and this is only a 2.0 the car already ran fine with the stock 1.8 FI FP in it and i put the XT6 one in today i was amazed at the size difference nearly twice as long as the stocker. Cheers R.
  22. i hope to have it move on its own power today all i need to do is put the front axles in then up on the lift to button up everything under it. im using an XT6 FP to keep up the flow rate so i need to swap that in. then just double check all nuts and bolts. Cheers R.
  23. OK SO it took some time but i got the cooling system together and was able to run it for an extended time so here is a short vid of it warmed up sorry it was dark out by the time i was done. http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z177/subaruguru/?action=view&current=DSCN6206.mp4 I still have a small vacuum leak but no issue i am going through it tomorrow. Cheers R.
