  2. yea i noticed that first off. om gona keep it red and keep it lifted. im also thinking about swaping out that front bumper with a stock one.
  3. ok cool so it isnt a 78 ill have to check for sure the guy im buying it from said he thouht it was a 78 im exited it has NOOOOOO rust:banana: but i do need a rear bumper
  4. ok so i met this guy whe i was like 14 and i loved his car (1978 4x4 wagon) well i kept in touch with him and told him that is he ever sold the car that i wanted it . well...... he abandond it when he went to texas he left it seting in a guys yard well i talked to the land lord andim buying it for 300 and he is getting me a tittle for it what do you think. im gonna cgive it a bath and start to find out wht i need for it( it has LOTS of parts in it)
  5. har har har im working on it and i have every one who didnt receve theres. i have had alot going on here but no worries i have it all under controlle. and ps mark. yes they will work for 2027 i have a converter in the works thanks rob.

  7. its a 1986 subaru ea81 hatch 4x4 D/R he got it from some guy in wenache who is on the board but i can recal his boardname. i cant remember if he puta 2wd arm on it but i do remember him saying it would need a new rear control arm in order for the 4x4 to work. if i was you i would call the PO. also jack the car up and spin the wheel if that spins too then its a 4x4 arm that has been snaped or cut but if it dosent its a 2wd arm those came with the back side welded. so it wouldent spin with the wheel. just my .02
  8. well thats just another reson to keep on driving them to bad when the disty on my 80 wagon fell apart i had to push it home it was only a few blocks but could have been bad if i was on the free way. good to hear it was an easy fix though. Rob
  9. im guessing FPR meens fuel pressure regulator and were might that be? unless you meen the goofy metal things inline on the fule line just befor they hook to the throttle body injector.
  10. ok so i droped the y pipe and turned it over low and behold gas is just running out of the exhaust ports and flaming up so tomorow im gona pul lthe belt covers and check the belts maby they jumped time bad tentioners? idk any other ideas?

  12. the engine ran good befor i put it in the loyale but i will check the valv/cam timing again. could it be that the carbed cam is diferent than the FI cam? i dont think there is. but then again??? Rob thanks
  13. my wheelin soob is the same way in town with the fan off it will sit at 170 with the fan on around town it sets at 140 on the highway at 50 no fan it runns about 160 with fan on high way 110:eek: but thats just for this time of year idk what it will do in the summer. i still have to put the other electric fan in
  14. ok so the car is a 93 subaru loyale FI auto 4x4 a lady put water in the oil and yeah the engine went um... bad. so i had a good motor i put in it was a carbed motor so i swaped the intake and disty from the bad motor onto the new one timed it (20btdc with green plugs hooked) it fires up but has a poping through the intake and within like 5 min. of running it the exhaust pipe is glowing red from the head pipes all the way to the muffler. when its daylight out im gonna chop the cat,resonator out and see if that solvs the problem because when its running it sounds REALLY restricted and the highest rpm i can get it to is 5000. thanks for any help i really need to get this car back on the road. PS i have checked: firing order 2 and 4 are not crossed all vacume lines are good fuses,fusable links has spark (duh) new plugs,wires,disty cap,roter timing is on, so are belts im stumped pleas tell me its the restriction of the muffler.   15. ok so in my um... 1986 gl wagon with xt6 alt the fuel gauge sits at about a quarter tank with the fuel light on no mater how much gas is in the tank and the volt meter sits at just below 12 volt all the time when it used to set at about 15 or 16 and when i use the passenger blinker it bumps just off 8 and hte fule guage gose all the way up and pegs out. it only dose this on the passenger blinker the drivers dosent do it. also im having issues with charging sometime my battery has good juice and sometimes it barely turns the egnine over. the car has new cable ends,alt. is good,and i just relpaced the grounds and its still doing it. any one have any words of wisdom??? thanks Rob

  17. my 1980 wagon has 240,470 miles on original engine and tranny. it had 220,xxx when i got it
  18. defintitly plus 1 for the clutch cable adjustment.
  19. hope you enjoy that tranny i love my gl-5 wagons 5 speed ea71 with top mount the gears seem really nice i can stay in fourth on the freeway and only be at 3 or 4 grand.

  21. hey gloyale if you do decide to toss the chrome let me know ill pay good for it. also the aluminum things on the bottom of the door are stock i have them on my hatch along with that stupid ruber strip thing uggh
  22. hey i have been looking for the chip commercial where there is a red subaru hatch back with quad lights it has a huge bowl on the roof and the people fill it with chips its cool but i didnt notic it was asoob utill the end. anyo ne seen it.
