Old member back! Anyone seen my car?
subaruguru replied to desertsoob's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
yeah looks like mtn grizzly and if you look really close you can see something rust like behind the rear fender. also judging by him saying he sold it to someone in iowa (hello mick) i think it is. Rob -
yea with what rooinator said. i do have the fwd option and i think that with the back of it chopped and in front wheel drive it wont be much of a problem. also it will spend a majority of its rime offroad.

on tiny (ea82) im just gonna run it in a U shape so it comes up and bends and gose down so the hose faces the ground. i might put a valv in both sides but thats about it. also tiny is an off road car. -
hey got my weber on and just wondering how to wire the electric choke also how to wire the plug that went to the old hitachi so that the car will run. the plug im talking aobut gose to the magnetic solinoid thing on the side of the carb. and when i unplugged it form the carb the car would die but now it has nowhere to go. so dose any one know how to rewire that and the chocke thanks. PS> the engine is an ea82 the car is an 86 gl wagon no CPU. the carb is a 32/36 dgev thanks again Rob. Rob:cool:

hey i was thinking about going lincoln locker with my rear diff i have two diffs and i can spare one to make it but im wondering if my car is light enough in the rear now that it will aloww the tire to chirp instaid of snaping axles. because i have choped my car the rear end is much lighter. but then again i have larger tires on it. i could just deal with pullinga rear axle when its on pavement but that would be a pain this winter if i need the 4 wheel i will only have 3 wheel unles i crawl in the snow to put the axle in. but if its snowy enough the tire should slip even if on wet pavement idk i guess i could just chance it. anyone got any ideas

i am using the drill through the wheel aproch but i am in the process of building a jig. i can do rear disk brakes but i havent gotten the parts yet. i can see what the wrecking yard would charge for a set (just the rear hubs). and do it that way.
-
you know i have an idea to try out. for a 5 lug swap i think it would be a good idea to go along with my six lug kits i will return to this thread and my 6 lug thread if have success.
-
i know and yes.

for my first set im gonna use extra subaru studds i have but but after i get going and if people want them i will probly get them from autozone. hey REX if your car runs the ea81 style hubs, drums i have enough for one set. also you pay shiping for the new parts and i will pay shiping for your old parts. this applys to every one.

subaruguru replied to SubaruWagon87's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well hell i should be getting damn near 45 mpg with my lil 1980 wagonits got a 1.6 a five speed is fwd and has stock tires straight through exhoust stock everthing on the engine new plugs wires roter and disty compleat new front suspention and steering.(pads, calipers, rotoers, barings, axles, and steering rack. WOW lol. -
hey guys i have been thinking about making 6 lug kits just simple bolt on parts i will start to make them for ea82 style first because thats what kind of hubs i have at the moment but i can make them for ea81s also. with this kit you will be able to just pull your hubs and bolt theas hubs (drums for the rear) on to you're car. then you send me you're old hubs and drums. i am going to charge $20 a hub. so $80 and your old parts for a 6 lug conversion. with this conversion you will be able to run 6lug toyota, chevy, mazda ect. style wheels. So now how many people would like to have a six lug kit. let me know. PS lug nuts are includid with purchase. Thanks Rob.
