  1. Temp has cooled down and its only gonna be in the upper 80's (87 in Reno...prob 75 in Tahoe) this weekend. So where to wheel is endless. I'm up for Tahoe, Kyburz, Doyale, trees work for me ... Wish a happy B-Day to your dad for me!!!! Im almost 30! yikes! ~Jeremy
  2. This idea of a wheelin meet has been beating around the bush for a while. Who's in and where should we wheel? Projected date would be Sunday 8/6.
  3. All done. Swapped that new alt in and it runs like a champ! Thanks for the help everyone.
  4. Sorry to hear that. Since its a DL it has push button S/R 4wd right? Whats the condition of the exterior and interior. Well I guess I could always go look at it. PM me some more info. Thanks, Jeremy
  5. I haven’t quite got to the stalling problem yet. I had some issues with the cooling system I have been working on... but I'm almost to the point of installing the new alt.
  6. Just want to double check. The voltage regulator is the gold box screwed to the fender wall right?
  7. Does anyone see a problem with installing a alt form a 1984 EA81 with the voltage regulator built in? I have one laying around and I would like to use it for testing purposes.
  8. Wow I think we are getting somewhere now. Thanks a bunch. I'll look into it this weekend.
  9. Hum... so maybe it is the fuel pump. I'll look into that somemore. It still dies if it's at idle or WOT.
  10. I'm helping Jibs trouble shoot his 1978 Brat. This problem has got me a little baffled. It starts right up, idles for about 20 seconds then the engine dies. It's like someone turned off a switch. It will fire right back up then after 20 seconds it will die again. Problem repeats it's self. Just before the engine quits it the idle goes up and it runs really smooth (not missing) for a fraction of a second then dies. I check the coil, fuel pump, spark...etc. I found out the alt was dead, maybe when that died it fried something? Any suggestion would help us get his brat back on the road Thanks, Jeremy
  11. I think we spoke before. The interior is leather along with the door panels. The center console latch is broken. I sold the cup holder and tweeters. Might check your local radio shack for replacement bulbs.
  12. Finally a conclusion to this problem. After a few months of trouble shooting I found that my TCM was shot. Found a new used one at the junk yard.. popped it in and torque bind is gone! Thanks for everyone’s help with this problem. ~Jeremy
  13. Looks like fun. I hope I can join next time!
  14. Its not the fuel pump its not the fuel filters. It's a blockage between in the metal fuel rails somewhere.
  15. Yeah it seems like a strange problem to me. We were at witts end yesterday after trying everything to get fuel up to the carb. I finally banged on the fuel rails in the cab. That knocked something loose and fuel pressure was restored. There must be corrosion or something in the rail that is collecting foreign objects and clogging it up. Sounds like the brat needs some bypass surgery!
  16. Must have been a 89 touring wagon. I have yet to see this ad.
  17. What??!?!?! I'm horrified! Hum... now that I think of it I owe them some money. Maybe this is there way to get back at me? haha :-\
  18. Did you change the oil? Hows the oil pressure. Brat has been sitting for some time without running right? Thats really no good for an engine. Change the fluids, hope it's not a rod knock.
  19. Oh really? Hum... I better dive under there and look. Would it be the ball joint on the drivers side then?
  20. 90 Legacy awd auto. At freeway speeds or anything about 45 it seems I get a weird pulling. About every 3 seconds the car will pull left and then straighten out. It repeats like clockwork. I notice it the most when accelerating or climbing a hill. Not sure if it could be the tires or an alignment issue. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeremy
