  1. Is your 87 FI? Maybe this service bulletin will fix your problem. I had a huge smoke screen on my 91 Loyale. I installed this fix and the problem went away. Maybe it will help your 87 if its FI? http://home.comcast.net/~c.moe/pvc_mod.pdf
  2. This might help you out also. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30872
  3. I might be in. Im always up for a trip to the valley. Jibs you have like 234 other brats you can take.
  4. Thanks everyone for your help. I replaced the axle today and the problem has gone away! yay! It was hard to figure out which axle went bad, so I took a 50 50 chance and nailed it the first time. Thanks again,
  5. I get off work at 3. I'll try to stop by and lend a hand.
  6. ohh.... dang :-\ Alright, that was my fear. The oil is fine and no white smoke. Oh well, time for some more work on the subies.
  7. Ok, what causes the coolant to foam up? I've been having cooling issues with my 1986 Ea82. Today I warmed her up with the radiator cap off and when I would rev the motor up the coolant turns into a milky color. First thing I think of is the water pump. Would a bad pump cause cavitation? Or maybe a leaky Head gasket? Help! Thanks,
  8. Sorry to hear about your subie problems Ted. But 2800 miles is a good run for an older vehicle. I hope you get the problem solved. As soon as I got home my axle blew up. Figures! It was good to meet you and Dave as well. Oh and my miles traveled was maybe a few miles less then NV Zeno... around 1300 roughly.
  9. HAHA funny you bring that up. I work at Sam's Club and I use Sam's Club gas... It makes my Legacy run really rough and boy does it ping. They buy there gas from a no name company, just buy the cheapest they can find.... I'm sure it's water. Good Luck on your Impreza problems...
  10. Alright I figured it's a CV. eh.... gotta wait for pay day.

    SJR Liftkit?

My first $600 I have to spare, I'm buying this kit for my 86 GL!!!
  12. I'm having a problem with a bad shimmy/vibration from the front of my 84 GL wagon. The problem only happens when I'm accelerating or deccerlerating. When coasting in neutral there is no problem. When I turn right or left the shimmy goes away. It all started about a month ago when it would only shimmy going up hills around 60 mph.... the problem keeps progressing, now it will do it at any speed. The vibration is more in the floor board then the steering wheel. Feels like the whole front end is going to fall to pieces sometimes. When moving slow the front end kinda shifts from side to side. I dove under the car today and everything seems good and tight.... So, I'm at a loss. I know it's not the tires because I tried rotating them. I'm thinking CV joint?? HELP!!!
  13. I'm pretty sure it was a light tan.... not blue.
  14. Hey! Some of those are my pictures. Web page looks good! Keep it up!
  15. Well, its good to hear that Jibs's brat made it to Sacramento! Good luck the rest of the way. Stay out of that heat. See you guys tomorrow in Portland!
  16. Damn Dave Tahoe is hot too. Just looked at your temp up there at it's 90! This drive to WCSS is gonna be an intresting one. Maybe I'll bring the Legacy with AC. Subynut, see ya Thursday morning! Drive safe!
  17. Oh no that’s not good. Make sure you bring plenty of coolant with ya. The weather men are predicting 103 here in Reno!!!! ARGH! That’s a little bit hotter then we are used to. There will only be two of us leaving Thursday morning NVZENO and I. Jibs is leaving from sac with thesubarujunkie for some reason. So you are welcome to join us.
  18. Oh so it does turn over? Could be lots of things then. Start with your basics like basic tune up stuff. Could be a fuel issue. Do you have a check engine light? You might wanna check the codes.
  19. Check the battery terminals for corrosion and cables. I had a bad cable once and it caused my Loyale to only start on occasion. It would just click when I turned the key. Replaced the cable and I was back in business.
  20. What route are you taking? What day are you leaving? There is a few of us leaving from Reno Thursday morning.
  21. Yes the turbo radiator is a two row and I would recommend using one. I stuck a 2 row in my 84 Wagon and it won't even heat up anymore! haha
  22. The one on the intake runs your gauge. U can always go pick up an aftermarket temp gauge plug it in and see what you get. Is all the air out of your system? Any bubbles in the overflow tank? I want that 50 cents!!!!! haha
