  1. There is a toggle switch on top of the steering column. Hit that and it should solve your problem.
  2. Alright, have a safe trip and we will all see ya in Bend on Friday!
  3. Yeah you can do that Dave. I have your number and Brians. I'm sure we will be on the road by 6am... I'm not sure how long it will take to get to Bend?
  4. All I got was the cluster. It hooks up but some of the idiot lights don't work. But that’s ok, the oil, charge and break lights work. It's 3000% better then that old cluster I took out. ick Thanks for the help everyone. I'll dig back into the dash tomorrow and I'll let you all know how it works out.
  5. Yes I have that yellow wire, now I need to figure out where it connects to the gauge cluster.
  6. Ok the 78's don’t have a tach. So I got myself a gauge cluster out of a 81 Brat which has a tach on it. Anyone know how I would wire this baby up? I have an after market tach on the dash but it's so jumpy I have no idea what RPM I'm running at. Thanks,
  7. Dave, are you going to meet up with us early Friday morning? The plan is 5am Friday morning to meet here at my place. Higher elevation = death to a ea71 but I'll consider that route too.
  8. Lets see here... Highway 395 to 31 to 97 to 26 to 35. That was my plan. What do you have in mind?
  9. Looks like the Nevada group is going to miss K-Falls all together. But we will be traveling through Bend.
  10. Yeah I'm at 5200 feet where I live. The altitude makes a huge difference in the temp during the summer. Yeah I visited Vegas last year, I'll never forget walking out on the strip at 1am and the temp was 97 degrees.. ahhhhhhh
  11. Haha, I think Reno-Tahoe is as far South as I would ever live. Heat kills me and my soobs.
  12. Works for me. I don't have a CB but I'll give you my Cell number Dave.
  13. Did Subaru make a factory hitch for a gen 1 Brat? If not anyone know of a hitch that will fit or where I could get one?? Thanks,
  14. I'm sure the Nevada group will be there by 7. That will be 6 of us and 4 subies.
  15. Very nice Brat!!! I just brought home a 78 today, now the fun job of restoring starts. What's the name of the bed liner stuff you used?
  16. My group and I should be in HR Friday afternoon if everything goes as planned.
  17. The local wrecking yard here in Reno has a Gen 1 Brat. If I remember right the cluster was in good shape. If you don't mind paying the fee and shipping I can pull it for you. Thats if you don't find another. Good Luck
  18. Thanks for the replies everyone!!! Decisions...decisions hum... I think $300 might be worth it. If not I'll check out the wal mart stuff.
  19. I'm picking up a 78 Brat tomorrow so the fun begins on protecting it. Anyone know of a drop in bed liner made for gen 1 Brats? If not, how about those spray in bed liner stuff? Since this is my first gen 1 subie I'll have more questions for sure. Thanks,
  20. Wow, I'm traveling through Carson tomorrow. I'll keep my eye out for it.
  21. Yeah the plan is to leave Reno at 5am. Sooo I'm thinking about a 9+ hour drive puts us there around 3 or 4.
  22. I'm gonna be driving to Hood River on Friday. No stops for me.
  23. Yeah the trip was great. I did not get as many pics as I wanted, but I'll post them up in a few. Doyale Grade is quite a fun place. We only got lost a few hundred times.. hehe And only one break down when I forgot I was in 2wd. I started spinning and I shook a vacuum hose loose. But with some duct tape we were back on the road.
