Northern Nevada (Reno) meet
subieman replied to subieman's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Let meet at my place around 10-11am? I think I can get my lazy friends up by then. I'm sure we will be back home around 4-5 for a BBQ! Which I'll be hosting -

Wow, I never thought of using my uninsured motorist. I do pay for it so I should use it. Crap, well it's too late now, I just sold the car to someone on the board who is gonna fix it up. Live and learn huh? -

Ok it's gonna be this Friday the 6th. Dave are you in? So far that makes 4 of us. Where should we go or do? And don’t say Hot August Nights. -
Ok, I think it's time again to meet up before WCSS. Anyone in Northern Nevada or California are welcome to come to Reno for some wheelin fun. I'm thinking either this Friday the 6th or next the 13th. I know that Jibs and a few non board members are in. Anyone else interested? Plan of action is still undecided, so vote now!

Agreed! So it costs someone $2 for the strap and maybe 2 min of there time to tie something down. It could save someone’s life. But these days everyone seems to be cheap bastards that are in a big hurry these days. gravelRX good idea with the lumber yards, but there are just way to many in Reno. 3 home depots, 2 lows and countless smaller places. And it's been over 2 months since the happening. Bullet proof glass seems like a good idea to me. Wonder how much that would cost me? Hehe -
Hey, it's good to see another local on the board. There are a whole bunch of us leaving from Reno for WCSS. Let us know if you need a ride.

Your going to Hot August Nights huh? Can I ask why? I try to leave town when thats going on. I can't stand it!!! ahhhh It's been in the upper 90's in Reno with a nice 10% humidity. Hehe

www.allsubparts.com Reputable/Reliable?
subieman replied to Kostamojen's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
http://www.allsubaruparts.com is http://www.1stsubaruparts.com. Just click on the link and it forwards to http://www.1stsubaruparts.com. But anyway, I just completed an order with them. They are prompt and seem to have good service. The only thing that kinda ticked me off were the prices they list on the site are different then they charged me. They sent an invoice by email with the web prices and no shipping charge. When I received the items the paper invoice had different prices and the shipping. If you read the fine print they do state the prices are subject to change. :-\ I received the correct items, just UPS smashed the box and bent my head gaskets. -
WCSS6 CARAVAN? LA to Hood River
subieman replied to s'ko's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Brian that sounds good. We can all leave on Friday and meet up in K-falls. Looks like it will take both groups about 5 hours to reach K-falls. Now we need a meeting place. Someone mentioned a Taco Bell or something? For us NV group I vote on meeting at my house on the day we leave. It's farthest north and it's on the way. I think most of you know where I live. Good point Dave.. What models are we all taking? As of now I'll be in my 91 Legacy wagon (if my head gasket change goes as planed) and my friend Scott will be driving his 84 Wagon.... I don't have a CB but I do have those 2 way radios to keep in touch. -
WCSS6 CARAVAN? LA to Hood River

I think we can make the trip in one day. At least from Reno to Hood River. Back in the day I would leave Reno at 5am and arrive in Portland around 3pm. But that was driving I-5 from Shasta. But I don't mind if we make it a 2 day trip. How’s the rest stop situation for the way we are going? More restrooms the better. My wife hates long drives so to split it up would work. A hotel would work. But then it's under the stars when we get to wcss. Dave the smoke makes its way to Reno, but up here in Cold Springs it's clear as a bell. As for the homes that are burning... it's a real shame. I hope the kids that lit the fire get there fair justice. It's quite sad to see peoples homes being burned to the ground and beautiful country side being torched because of some kids ignorance. ARRRGGHHH! -

Okay, I'm still going to be leaving Friday morning early. I have to work Thursday night until 9pm. So what day are you leaving Dave and JB? We can meet brian and others in Klamath.... so what time would I have to leave Reno to make it to Klamath in a time that meets your guys schedule? Meeting up may be more of a pain then its really worth. We will all see each other in hood river anyway. I dunno? -

I haven’t had a chance to check out the route I'm taking yet. All I know is I'm staying far away from I-5 on the way up. I'm leaving Friday and returning home either Sunday or Monday. So far it's jibs, NVZeno, my buddy and I. Who else is going from this part of the desert? -
EA81 backfiring... why she do this???
subieman replied to subaru420's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I have numerous exhaust leaks on my ea81 and she backfires pretty bad too. So until I save enough money to have the exhaust system replaced I disconnected the air suction valve. It helps with the really loud bangs! I did not use the quarter trick, I just disconnected the pipe where it connects to the air filter housing and plugged it up. -
Yes Jibs a EJ series motor will fit into a Brat. I almost did a EJ motor swap into my Hatchback. But lack of funds and time I stopped the project. If you decide to go ahead with the swap, make sure you have a whole donor Legacy. Along with the motor you need the wiring harness and if your not going to adapt a ea series tranny to it you will need the whole drive train out of your donor car. Let me know if you really wanna do this. I have a wiring diagram for 90-94 Legacys. Very detailed. I ordered it off a VW site. Here is a pic I found of a EJ22 in a Brat.
