  3. Horizontally Mounted Radiator! How good is that!?! Cheers, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  4. Thats ****ing hilarious. I think I'll give myself a raise tomorrow at work in front of the boss. Kanpai, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  5. Thanks folks...hold the phones... we have a winner! (OR actually, Loser - ...). Replaced the fuseable link/relay with a couple different functional 'handmade ones'... no luck! Popped open the plastic timing cover, sure enough belt torn almost through! (just enough for weak spark, I guess). Much Obliged again... #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  6. What made you mention the timing belt? Was it the 'turning over but quietly' description? I am away from the car for another hour or so... will check it out in more detail... Thanks, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  7. Don't panic... yet. The hesitation at full throttle could be a number of things, some small... the Brat Hedz here will know for sure, but if you're on the lucky side of things, maybe even just a fuel filter. I'm going to vote optimistically, on the griding sound, vibration, even loose 4th gear... linkage bushings or related, maybe? Again - confirm with the Brat Pros first, there will be plenty of time to panic later. 8. Aaaah ye-ah... "Eye of Thundera- give me sight beyond sight!" Or like the Scoobs in this area of the threads... "Ancient spirits of evil, transform this decayed form to Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living!" Holy Cr*p... 14 years ago, we used to be kids!, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  9. Hmmm... Try to let us know what it turns out to be... I have a similar and it remains after swapping both CVs... I had even suspected motor mount(s) at one point. Let us know... 10. Check the structurals for safety (for example: fuel tank, shock towers, subframe mounting points, engine mount points, 'Flintstone brake' floors...). A can of POR-15 or even 'over the counter' 'rust converting catalyst' goes a long way to slow down any additional oxidation. Then... get a tetanus shot, drive it into the ground, sell the bumper! Have fun!, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  11. Hmmm... Shocks are t-i-r-e-d :-\ ... I think the battery shifted a tad... Thanks again, the crew is alert here I tell you... Kanpai, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  12. Awesome! A Blessing (and a Curse) from the Church Lady!:-p Shiny bumper to sweeten the deal, too! Kanpai, #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
  13. 30 mph into a traffic circle... all's going hunkey dorey ... stall , check engine light... coast to side of the road... no start . Getting fuel to carb, turning over (although quietish-ly!?), visible spark, battery charged full... ??? Everything looks alright on the outside of the motor... checked vac and electrical connections... all looks OK, except noticed one of the 'fusible link relays' (small faded yellow plastic with see-through top - 1 of 2 with 3rd slot between the 2 empty - what are these?!), near brake reservoir was blown... maybe unrelated? Ideas ? ! ? Ergghhh; thanks #89 1989 Subaru JUSTY RS 4WD 127, 669 miles :-\ JUSTY in 'progress' pics: http://tinyurl.com/3y9h42
