What is "highest mileage" world record?
DIRAVI replied to bgd73's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Here in sweden we also use MB's as Taxicabs, during my studentyears i drowe taxi and one of the cars i used to drive was a 200D from 1988, it was in 900'000 Km on the original engine and tranny. And a 300D Lange (stretched) had past 1'500'000 Km in less than ten years. The ordinary cab in my area run about 150'000-200'000 Km every year, so it did not take so many years to have serius miles on them. Service intervals whas short, oilchange in tre-four weeks I mostly drove Citroen XM tho, and the ones whit manual transmission often passed 1'000'000 Km and the Automatic ones had trubbel whit the tranny auround 800'000 Km. -
Who's running non-gasoline fuel in their EA?
DIRAVI replied to SakoTGrimes's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
it is common on newer LPG-cars, to hawe them "Bifuel", so you have the EFI to control the propane/methane as well as the petrol. in this way you can use some petrol to "top upp" when the propane/methane dont giwe eunogh power. -
Who's running non-gasoline fuel in their EA?
DIRAVI replied to SakoTGrimes's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I am running my EA81, carb, on E85, its 85% Etanol, 10% petrol, i can use it whitout conversion, but somtimes i have to use the choke to give it a litle more fuel. gasmilage is about 10% lower than on petrol(98 octan unleded) but since the octan is mutch higher on etanol it is possible whith conversions to run same or better milage. i am in the process of convert mi girlfriends EA82T whith new enginecontrol(MegaSquirt) and then the possibilities to use new fuels is better, with better controll of the ignition and fuel. -
Do the 3sp auto turbo (ea82t) have 25 splines on the axle wheelside, or is it 23 like to the tranny?

Best place to dispose of used fluids(?)
DIRAVI replied to MSSLGECKO's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Here in Sweden, the stores are obligated to take in return used fluids of the same kind as the sell. So if a store or Gas-station sells brake-fluid, the are obligated by law to take in return used brake-fluid, and so on. Makes it easy for oss consumers. -
New Gen guy needing help Brat needs more power
DIRAVI replied to Bmxpunk's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If he can live whith te extra weight, 45-50 Kg or so, swap in that EJ22 whit new tranny and all. If he cant live whit te extra wheigt, taka an EA82(t). and the car will still turn like it should. -
D/R Tranny, is thera any 4sp?
DIRAVI replied to DIRAVI's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
So, most probably my D/R is 4sp. I shold try to get an 5sp D/R from an EA82 car. The LSD rear whold be nice, but mayby not so easy to find. Are tere any FT4WD with Center Difflock, i prefer to be able to lock the center diff, or have a on/of style 4WD. If i get a Tranny from an EA82T car, what neds to be done whit the axels? 23/25 splines an so. -
Hi, i hawe a tranny at home, from an 82 SuperStation. It seems to me that it should be Dual Range. Is thera other than 5sp dual range? What is the exterior diferense between the trannys. I planing to mount A EA82T in my 84 Hatch, and whant to uppgrade the 4sp to 5sp D/R

EA82T Tuning Genius's - Lets fix this problem
DIRAVI replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
It is possible, when you mount an IC, you get more air in at a lower boost. But it should not be that much! -
XT6-engines shold be 6 cylinder?

There is no "conversion factor" betven Wheel HP and Crank HP. Due to the fact that the losses depends on different thing, some torque, som rpm, som static. So if your dynotester says that he can give you some Crank nubers from the Wheel numbers, its all guesses, and probobly he upp's the number a bit to make you happy, afer all, often you payed him $$$, and you whants result. If you have 133 at the wheels, you have nowhere neer 190 at the crank. If you loose near 60 hp in the tranny, it will need serios cooling. A car whit 225 at the wheels maybe hawe near to 270 at the crank, not more. a 4WD a little bigger losses. //DIRAVI PS: My english is not so good, i hope you understand.
