  1. Ya, pictures would be awesome. Those seem easy to find at a reasonable price.
  2. Anyone have a source for a new radiator for an 80 brat? Or an alternative that fits and is easier to find. Thanks
  3. Thanks guys, i swapped plugs and wires, cap and rotor look good, they are pretty new. Checked timing, and it is sitting at 14*. I am out of room on adjustment. Running 83+ distributor and diy bracket, im going to try getting a bracket from pick and pull, see if that helps. 1 notch on disto was to far. Will update if it helps.
  4. How is the return line routed from the weber, i haven’t seen this before. The vent still leads to the charcoal canister. I was under the impression that the weber wanted the same fuel pressure that the stock pump puts out.
  5. No, just direct connection from fuel pump.
  6. Running an 80 brat with weber. I’m getting horrible gas mileage(mid teens). Seems to run good, carb is adjusted and falls with in specs(idle and mixture). Cap and rotor don’t look bad, Im running a junk yard coil, and rebuilt 83+ disto. All smog equipment is bypassed, disto is only vac line used. I smell gas on hot days, how much could I be loosing to evaporation. Should I reconnect the charcoal canister system? Could low fuel pressure cause bad mileage? Plugs look good. coil? Plug wires? I have checked for vacume leaks, i think I'm good. I am not expecting anything great, i seldom hit the freeway, and my average drive is <2 miles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance IC
  7. Thanks, found a knob at ace that fits perfect.
  8. Anyone know the thread size of the 4wd shift knob on an 80 brat?
  9. My first step would be to find the grounds and trace them. May have broken or shorted one. Check the back of the fuse block, if it roasted the fuse that bad, could have screwed up the connector on the back. If none of that works, get a meter, and look for voltage at the connectors, if there is no voltage, trace the wires back til you find it. It is possible that you unplugged a piece if harness when you put it back together. Good luck ic
  10. Didn't even notice they were 6 lug. Thanks for info.
  11. I love it... What size tires are those? I like the way they fit the fenders. Are you using the cheesy bumper mounted hitch?
  12. Interested in roll bar, and front bumper. May be able to pick up. Oops just saw how old this is.
  13. I actually have a box, it came to me in pieces. I think its all there, it is missing ALL the clips that hold the two halfs together.
  14. Any chance you have a complete HVAC box for a Gen 1 brat? Or even the clips that hold the two halfs together?
  15. I would think brat rear seats, wagon wheels, glass, corner lights and trim would be worth stockpiling. I personally would love to get my hands on any of the gen 1 brat stuff if funds were available. Shiping / transporting is going to be the toughest part.
  16. First confirm your getting spark at all. Pull plug #1, plug it in to its boot, hold the end against the block and turn the motor over (confirm TDC while #1 plug is out). If you are getting spark, start from scratch and confirm your timing, fireing order 1-3-2-4. If you are not getting spark, you know what your problem is, just not why. My guess would be coil or disty pickup. These motors are super simple, spark, fuel, compression, is all you need. If you were getting spark, and your timing was close, the motor would at least try to start w/ starting fluid.
  17. Has any one tried this or something similar? Im working on an 80 brat. The bottom of the doors are already rusted, I'm trying to stop the water so I can repair the doors. http://www.jcwhitney.com/fairchild-industries-glass-weatherstrip-seal/p3039069.jcwx?skuId=225814&filterid=c3813d1927y1979g81u0j1
  18. Can Some one take a picture of the connection from the e-brake handle to the cable ends. My brat has nothing there. I want to see how it's connected, so I can Fab something up. Thanks Italo
