  1. did you check the hood release handle bracket? sometimes they put it in the square hole there.
  2. i am assuming this is a 2.5? if so just get a 95 legacy 2.2 engine with the a/c bracket, p/s lines and that is it. it couldn't anymore straight forward than that. no wiring or anything of the sort. plug it in and play.
  3. only allow air to flow one way, providing the booster with vacuum but not allowing the vacuum to escape when throttle is depressed.
  4. I know a couple people that did it one a 97 impreza obs 2.2->2.5, pretty much a direct plug and play swap with the dual port ex man. and the other a 97 legacy o/b 2.5->2.2 again same deal.
  5. you can use the marks on the belt as well for a reference. if you have never used them there should be 2 solid lines and 1 dotted line, just line the dotted one up with the little circle on the crank and the others with the cam marks
  6. what ever happened to my pics after the outback struts??? lookin forward to checking it out:grin:
  7. there should be markings on it that show engine -->. normally it will only fit well the one way. If I am thinking correctly you should be able to blow through the booster end and not through the engine end..... but its early
  8. is it going all the way back to lock pos? if it isn't try just messing with stepping on the brakes turning the ign. on and off and shifting back and forth through the gears. it will happen alot if you are used to driving a manual and you shut the key off before putting it into park. i am guilty of that i dont know how many times.
  9. Check to make sure the axle c clip is fully engaged into the diff. We had an RS in that a local well known trans shop....not mentioning any names...miss-diagnosed first as a clutch, then a trans. they sent it to us and it just turned out to be the clip in the rear axle was allowing the inner to slide in and out. you would launch the car hard and it would click a couple times and then acted like neutral.
  10. What type of check valve did the SVX booster use? The legacy has one in the hose that goes from the manifold to the booster. I would go out and check a parts car but it is about 0 degrees right now.
  11. I would say from experience the H6's are much more reliable, just wouldn't buy a first year H6. Our customers with H6 cars only come in for oil changes and other small issues compared to out phase 2 customers that come in for much worse. To sum it up they are pretty bullet proof.
  12. what is wrong with your 2.5? we are in bath pa just north of allentown and i have plenty of 95 leg. 2.2 setups (directswap) and depending what is wrong with your 2.5 maybe we could work a trade in value. normally we get $400-$500 for our 2.2s.
  13. on your car i would try a maf. have the same issue now with a 95 ls due to an ebay intake. on the 2nd maf now and am going to pull the int. off this weekend. and also it isnt throwing a code
  14. the are other changes also with the way the newer cars interpret the speed sensor signal for the speedo
  15. hook a scanner up to it first, i have 2 cars in the shop right now with the same issues. one has a bad speedo head the other is a speed sensor
  16. contact blackbart, he has all kinds of turbo car parts, and he should deff have a trans for you.
  17. i dont know for sure that the 99 would be classified as the phase 2 block, just because it is an 8 bolt? it does still have the phase one pistons with the square valve releifs. 96-98 were all 4 bolt and the 99s were 8 bolt. I have encountered a few 4 bolt motors bolted fast to a 8 bolt trans, just pulled one the other day in an impreza that was too low of mileage to have been replaced.....just think it is subarus trying to finish off the last of their stock for the line change. The JEBA trans is deff an 8 bolt as well as the 2.2 JEAA trans, and yes they are some of the first phase 2 style spin on filter transmissions.
  18. maybe also check the condition of the powerbrake check valve. it is hidden in the middle of the hose that goes from the intake to the booster. pull it off and shoot air through either direction when it is cold. air should only flow one way.
