  1. Even though, you didn't ask, I second getting an extra set of wheels. My preference would be for 16's, the extra set will pay for themselves within a year. And any dedicated snow tire is going to do great. Check tirerack pro reviews to see if one excels in a particular type of condition you will see a lot (standing water, ice, etc...) Also tirerack will mount & balance the tires along with installing the sensors on the wheels if needed and the whole thing gets shipped to your door ready to be put on.

  4. Rope in the cylinder and bump-starting it to tighten a bolt? Wowsers! I put the car in 5th gear and set the parking brake. Crank on it with a 3 foot breaker bar. You have to really put some muscle into it.
  5. I detest aftermarket shocks for the rear gate. I bought mine and they mounted fine, but they only have 90% of the force needed to hold the gate up! So they only work on the hottest days. Well, until I pulled the rear panel off, the 4 lb difference means it stays up most of the time now...

  7. Also has the lovely automatic seatbelts. Nothing else screams early 90's more than those contraptions!
  8. Hmm, if there is nothing that sandwiches it in coolant flow... I would leave it off. You would really need a thermostat of some sort that keeps the oil out of that radiator until it needs it. And you should rarely if ever need it unless you are using maximum horsepower or torque for long periods of time. Pulling a trailer up a mountain, road course race track...

  11. They also act as an oil heater when the coolant temperature is higher than the oil temperature, which happens every morning when you drive it. And getting the oil warmed up faster is much better for your engine. So there are really no downsides to it, except for maybe a couple more spots for a possible leak
  12. From what I understand, you should be able to just replace the headgasket. The cylinder would not pressurize because the air could sneak into the coolant passages. Personally, I would replace the clutch while it's out. And check the input shaft snout for grooves, they make a sleeve out of harder metal that covers it. Then a slightly bigger throw-out bearing will ride on it. It fixes the "catchiness" of the clutch pedal motion if the snout starts to groove.
  13. Awesome! Did you take any pictures? I am about to do this on a car that had an original radiator from late '80s until replaced last year.
