  1. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=5854&cat=689 Here are a few pics from Ed's galleryof a s/c ej22 with a water to air i/c.
  2. That still ultimately limits his upgrade possibilities. But may be better for him in the short term depending on money and skill level.
  3. You'll never find a car called blue bird here... Unless its been imported
  4. You can swap a 5spd d/r tranny in there. All the info you need for that swap is here in the forums. Try posting in the wanted section of the classifieds for either option.
  5. Remember me when that times comes...
  6. Yea, that is a good possiblility, however stock impreza springs, which are the only ej series ones that will remotely fit in an ea81 strut tower, give about a 1.5-2 inch lift over stock. I've got one fabbed up on a wagon shell by drilling new holes to mount it. An they still bub some up top and the camber is horid with stock lca's/
  7. It holds true for ALL 2wd Impreza's. I'm not positive if an Impreza ever saw an ej22 2wd or not, so you may very well be correct...
  8. The biggest hang up on them is going to be the mounting of the front struts, the top hats on ea81 brat and others are a 2 bolt, xt6 and ej are 3 bolt. It can be done though
  9. ^^^ I want your car... Those wheels and that color are just sexy together.
  10. Like D said, xt6 5 lug is a great way to got. You can use legacy/ impreza fronts, but on the ea series cars the xt6 is the only way to go without spending bug bucks or custom fabbing a bunch of stuff. XT6 will still retain the front ebrake setup, but with either xt6 or ej front stuff, you will have to swap out front strut combo and axles to match.
  11. I've seen a 95 2wd legacy, I'm not sure about 96, it was either the last year for 2wd's or the first year of 100% awd's.
  12. IIRC, the gc era impreza is about two inches shorter in wheelbase than the gen 1 legacy and gen 2 impreza. It would might work. But then again it might not fit well around the rear axle.
  13. We're gonna try and make it. Nothing definative yet though.
  14. You'll only have to change the front axles doj cups. Make sure the axles truely are 4wd ea81, they are 2mm bigger around than 2wd. My brat had one 2wd axle on it at one point, and I didn't know it untill i started messing with the doj's for the ej swap. But the rear splines are the same.
  15. 2wd impreza axles are 23 spline. 2wd legacy are 25 spline just like the awd models. Those axles aren't the same.
  16. Theres no wiring involved to putting the s/c on there. Just belt routing, intake plumbing, and s/c mounting to consider. Look up Matty B's WonderBrumby, the first one. He had a s/c'd, distributed, LPG burnin ej...
  17. You'll have to swap the inner cups on the front axles. 4wd ea81 and ea81t are the ones you'll need to swap, 2wd ea81 won't work with ea82t's. Rear splines are the same. Get the driveshaft from the rx too. The rear ends will straight swap, and you can use Jerry's kit to mount it in there perfect. Then you'll have to mount the carrier bearing for the driveshaft.
  18. If its what we call a hatchback, ea81 engine you won't have timing belts at all. If its the 3 door, ea82 engine it has timing belts but non-interferance design
  19. The subaru won't be the same. Use a big c-clamp to push that one back in. On the wagon, you'll have to twist the piston back in, vice grips, pliers, or a special tool from a parts store will be needed.
  20. That seems like a decent deal, If its solid underneath. We've seen a few look good outside and be trashed underneath from rust. Check out Seahag1978's photo gallery for her 84 Brat. If you can get some pictures of it, we could probably give you a better guess of what it would be worth. Yeah, the bolts at the top of that picture, use care and lots of pb blaster, or your favorite penitrating oil on them.
  21. For an ea82 car. Or for the use of ea series transmissions.
  22. I got mine for a local garage, its a 3/16 inch straight punch, haven't messed one up yet.
  23. I think somebody just doesn't know what the hell they are doing...
