  1. I have not a clue as to the ea82, never owned one... the ej22 90-94 is 6.5k rpm and 95-up is 6.2k rpm
  2. A n/a ej22 can handle 300 crank hp with lower conpression pistons(ej22t stockers will do fine for more than the open deck will hold), bigger injectors, and good tuning. There are reported cases of people just throwing on a turbo and bigger injectors with no managment on the ej22 and being ok. N/a ej22's are cheap, n/a 5spd's do well with the power as long as you don't drive like a typical wrx owner. And you will have, mostly likely, the nice 4.11 final drive.
  3. First Tim, welcome to the usmb. Hope your stay here is pleaseant, and we are here for anything. Don't be afraid of the search feature (it doesn't like three letter entries). 1) Can't be much help here. Other than that some auto parts stores that miv thier own paint may be able to fix you up with something. 2) Spray well give you the best result, Krylon Fusion is probably among the best for plastic surfaces. And get some of the blue painter's masking tape, it won't still to the chrome. 3)I can't remember the brand name, but its a roll in type. Just make sure to neutralized the rust before you put it in, or the brat won't be happy with you. 4)You will need to get every last assorted part for your ac from the donor. Don't go cheap on it though. While its apart get new o-rings, and evaporator, and convert it over to r-134a. Shannon
  4. I've read that the rack mounts different. Never confermed it. But I see it beeter to bring up all possiblities,
  5. What motor are you thinking of??? The ea82 disty is at the back of the driver's side head
  6. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=76650 See there for the RX kit. A WRX and RX are two different beasts. The RX is ea82t car with all the extra upgraded nice stuff.
  7. I see we have somebody who doesn't really believe cars have souls too... Its a tough decision, that is for sure. This may sound crazy, but go talk it over with him... Yes I mean Bucky. Listen to your heart. If he needs more than you can give, it might be worth it to let him go on to somebody who can give him what he needs.
  8. s'ko I thought all the feedback carb cars had an ecs light in the tach. All the ones I've come across have.
  9. That would only be true if the driver's side belt is still dead on. Which it seeams to be from it only burning pass side plugs. I would say that this is your best bet to fixing the problem.
  10. Only if its yellow. Bright yellow adds 25 rwhp to your average fwd car:grin:
  11. Silicone filled lines huh... Beat a 2.2 subaru... I expected more three main worship...
  12. Thats the best way IMHO to get the oil and coolant where it needs to be. You will need to either get a ea82t crossmember, cut and weld a scallop into your n/a crossmember, or use a 96 up ej25 y-pipe and a custom made uppipe to get the gasses to the turbo itself. But thats the hard part.
  13. There are some people who have turboed the n/a motor, the general concensus is that they handle about 10~ psi pretty well, without much to support it. I'd look into bigger injectors, ej22t pistons or aftermarket, and at the very least an ecu for an ej22t with the added sensors or aftermarket, just to be on the reliable side of things. But low boost like 6-8 psi should be perfect for this motor with no real problems
  14. Yeah, its greener, lol. Thats why I'll be coming out your way for a brat one of these days, lol. The thing to watch for buying one from the east is rust starting. That kills off more of our cars out here than anything. As for the one needing the seperator plate and hg, maybe 800, If you can do the work yourself. Good luck with your search.
  15. That is actually a nice looking paint job... I might just give that a try...
  16. Please don't remind us about our condition on this coast... LOL, the winters kill off the ones that saw regular usage out here, they use highly corrosive salt... Its not that people didn't buy them. Its that most bought a cheap 4wd car and treated them as such.
  17. It sounds like you are developing the leaky head gasket problem with the phase 2 ej25's. Or you may still have air in the system.
  18. Find an ea81 wagon w/ power steering. You'll need the engine crossmember, all the lines, pump and brackets. And the steering linkage that connects to the column.
  19. Its a fuel cut defencer. Eleminated that pesky 13 psi limit enforced by the stock ecu.
