  1. I know the extent of his ej parts, but none the less its an ea car.
  2. The radius rods have a 17mm nut on ea81 cars, IIRC. At least the one I sent Zebisko did. Check the bushings on the sway bar, they are usually worn out after years of use.
  3. Fixed that for ya... Looks good, I like the badge on the battery holder too, nice touch.
  4. That thing is freakin awesome. A write up is a must. We gotta know...
  5. I had the ability to change mine before 1000 posts IIRC. But I had been around for a while, just too a little time off so to speak... Oh, and only knowledge can truely fix new, you can have as many posts as you want. But if your clueless you're still clueless.
  6. The headlights and grill changed in 97 or 98, but the hood should still work for you. obs or rs hoods will have the scoops and stuff if thats what you wanna go for.
  7. Yeah, I've done some patching to a brat, or two... Make sure you cut far enough away from the rot to insure clean metal, and overlap and weld your new metal in, and seal it all properly. You'll be good to go. If I knew of any clean patch parts around here i'd offer them up as well.
  8. All the brats from 82-87have an ea81 motor, the hatchbacks from 80-89 either have the ea71 or ea81 depending on trim level. All other styles from 85+ have an ea82 variant, except of course the xt6.
  9. LOL, I know theres a reason. The ej22t block looks like this... And the ej205(wrx) and ej257(STi, LGT, FXT, Baja Turbo) Look like this...
  10. If you've got a good running ej22t swapping in an ej20 is the worst idea you could have in the world.
  11. The stock computer won't let you go more than 13 psi or there abouts. A stand alone managment system would give you better control of what its doing. There aren't many availible for these cars, so that will be the hard part. Link use to make one that worked well for them. Even with that, to run higher boost figures you'll need bigger injectors, you'll need side feeds to work with the ej22 fuel rails, 05+ Legacy GT, Forrester XT, Baja Turbo, and 04+ STi style injectors will work in them. You'll also want to add an intercooler, Saab 900 intercoolers can be made to fit under the hood, as well as the early JDM wrx "slanty" intercooler, and 06-07 wrx, and Forrester XT intercoolers will fit well.
  12. The stock internals of the 22t can hold about 25 psi with proper tuning and good flowing heads. You won't find any other heads other than ej22's that you won't have to swap manifolds with. To put on most other turbo's VF series will most all bolt directly in place, but you'll have to make the intake parts work. A turbo back exhaust made for a wrx will work on the car, some of the exhaust hangers won't line up perfect however. On a turbo motor, generally raising the compression ratio is a bad idea...
  13. I got one picture, then my "fresh charged" batteries decided to die. The spot welds are around the edges of this peice of metal...
  14. Yep, Bucky is a wagon, But she means Fiberglass.
  15. General Disorder had a thread titled something to the effect of Purge Soleniod Insanity dealing with this issue a little bit ago
  16. Keep on top of things with the ol' girl and she'll treat you right for a long time to come. Also, the ticking is nothing major. You've got the complenentary TOD that comes with most all ea82 motors. TOD as it is refered to is the hydraulic lash adjusters on your motor. search for threads about "tick of death". And remember its an acronym and should not be taken as a literal interpretation of impending death, lol. Welcome aboard...
  17. I was looking at some of my stuff I've got laying around. They appear the same to me.
  18. Looks good all muddy Rob. Nice alxe too, lol. You can try some of the photo hosting sites on the net, www.photobucket.com is what I use, I'm not sure if they've got a limit on vid length or anything, others may have some other places to try out as well.
  19. Connie, if you think ea82 timing belts are easy. You just checked into club med with the ej series, lol. Nice score!!!
  20. You're right, I should have specified I meant for the 5spd swap.
  21. Good call Gary, I would have one of those as well.
  22. Thats a good looking car Mike, probanly the onley ea82 body style I'd seriously cinsider haveing.
