  1. Stock ea81/ea81t driveshaft will need to be lengthened. And I'm sure its been said before, but for the 4wd shifter. If you are getting the 4spd d/r from a donor car, take a cordless drill and simply drill out the spot welds for the lever mount and pop rivet or tack weld the mount to yor body. Also, I skimmed reading this, but you'll also need the bracketry where the radius rods connect is different and you'll need them too.
  2. If you want to swap the engine, don't do one that says ea** go with an ej or don't bother.
  3. Yep, have a safe and fun trip guys... And have fun at the cookout, I'm gonna make it to something with you guys if it kills me...
  4. You've read things about people putting weber carbs on their cars... Not a good idea if since efi is more efficient/
  5. I use photobucket for all of my image posting, its quite easy to do it from there. I've never experimented with uploading photos on the board, so I really couldn't help witht that
  6. Here's a question I haven't seen adressed about the slop yet. Whcih component is wearing to make the slop, the rod that goes into the trans, the shifter arm, or is it just to pin that holds then together?
  7. Yep, those are motions, and they have been painted black at some point. Good luck finding the center cap, somebody else was looking for them a while back as well. Check your local junk yards, those wheels are usually found on the xt...
  8. You're right on track daeron. I've heard nothign but good things about them
  9. 3 more... (not this car) for the new gen that is...
  10. Rear diff, if he has 25 spline fronts you'll need to swap front axles, center console may be different(I'm not sure, not well versed in ea82 interior), possibly transmission x-member.
  11. 3)Haynes and Chiltons are decent for simple stuff, for critical information go with a Factory Service Manual 4) Open up the exhaust and intake flow, and a good complete tune up... Weber is not a throttle body... Its a carburator, do not under any circumstances get rid of your fuel injected setup... 5) They are the exact same... 6) Autozone will not be able to read your codes... However you can, see here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49918
  12. ^^^^ What he said... If you must do it though, get into some loose stuff before you pop it out of 4wd
  13. Hi all, i don't post much in this section, but I need some help with identifying if the ea71 I have here is an original top mount starter or fat case motor. It does not have the bell housing attached to it, and it was like this when it was given to me. Are there any particular things on the motor that would tell me this? I'm wanting to use the pistons from it in an ea81 build. And I've read that the pistons are not the same in the fat case variation.
  14. The good news is that the po swapped in a non interferance ej22. If it did slip time he won't have hurt anything internally.
  15. Good to see you back in action on this thing... It looks like we use the same engine hoist, lol...
  16. I put the cut springs on the hatch with the strut top in the 2wd position, it did seem to change the caster on them, and the drop helped out the camber like you wouldn't believe.
  17. Yep, Fusion is the name, i've done a bunch of various interior stuff with in over the time its been out, great stuff
  18. Over here we can get stuff called back to black, it works decent, but the only way to make it last is to paint them. For the badging, I always use 3m double sided adhesive tape
  19. Yeah, one of my friends does business with that lot. I doubt it's an 88 though...
  20. Talked to an old friend the other day. He has been talking with a few dealerships lately, and the rumor is that Subaru is planning on making another truck. This time useing the tribeca platform, and aiming to compete with the Honda Ridgeline and such... Andbody heard anything about this? The internet says nothing at all...
