If you were in it for top end, you should have gone spfi. The weber gives a good torque boost but not a big horsepower difference.

I think there are a few on here that hold the throne before you are in line, lol. But consider this, without the metal ring you run the risk of loosing *maybe* a quart of fluid untill fall if it does leak. And you run the risk of lossing *maybe* a quart depending on how fast you are with your hands. I've replaced the metal rings on the oil plug because of the same reason without loosing any more than 1/4 of a quart. At least if you take the time to put it on now, you can account for the lost fluid now, and not have to be continually worried about if you have a leak and how bad, and adding more fluid over the next few months.

No its not dead yet. Like sako said. Grind it down or use a wire brush wheel on a grinder to get it to fairly clean metal. Use some of the POR-15(it is one of the best things on the market for fighting rust) as the direstions indicate. Then prime the hell out of it. And procede to paint and ubdercoat the hell out of it. It has got a few good years left in it even if you leave it be. If you want to continue the "race" of old gens like most of us do. You have caught it with enough time to save it. It will require some work and some spending, but IMHO its worth it to save a unique breed from the scrapper. There are some people on the board who harbor the attitude that they are not worth it(you know who I mean if you've searched some of the rust threads). But they aren't making any more of these things. Good luck... Shannon

Well, with a little modification you can put any seat into your car. Any Loyale seat will be a direct swap into yours. With a little bracket fabrication you can put the legacy/imp/baja seating in there as well.

This is something I did to my mom's legacy. I smashed a deer at 80mph last april in it. I knew if it was turned in to insurance it would be totalled for sure. A tow cable, tree, bf rubber hammer, and a couple hours made it good as new. Sort of... -
I would call those boxes single range. Since they are always in "4 Hi" and you pull the lever for low range.

Well you've got a low compression version of an already non-interference motor. You'll be fine on the valves. If nothing else, lol

TO my knowledge there isn't anything that uses what you are looking for, maybe on the new 08 impreza. I'm not sure about it either, I know they have done a massive redesign on the suspension but I have no idea what it involved.

To bend the valves you'd have to be something close to a greek god in those motors. But that is a nice car nonetheless. Congrats.

The standard silverish steelies would work I believe. The ea82 cars had them and I don't think there was much variation from the earlier design.

Yeah, you can put an impreza or legacy engine in there. Its a little bit of manual labor, but nothing that can't be done. A big hurdle is the wiring for the swap, but there are a few board members who will strip done a harness from the donor car and label what needs to be hooked up for you, at a very reasonable fee for the work involved in that... Check in the Classified Forum under Vendors, you'll see the threads there about it. If you are going to be offroading the brat, I would also recomend swapping to an ea82 era 5spd d/r transmission at the same time. Bratsrus1 can make the crossmember/shifter modifations to put it in there and look completely stock. Do some searches of this forum, there are a bunch of people who have done this type of swap into the older body styles. A lot of good information can be found in here. There is also a complete write-up of everything involved that can be downloaded to your computer in .pdf form for your viewing. It is sticky'd at the top of the thread list.

Connie if you want to get a rear disc setup from a 4wd model, just let me know. A yard(stuff for pretty dag on cheap) has about 5 of them in it. I could grab them and get them to you.

That sounds like an obd2 eg33 harness. On my mom's 98 it hooks up to a speed sensor that is in the transmission where the cable would be. The 95 Imperza should be the same way, I think.

Connie, you know you can use 4wd rear stuff on Bucky. Just make sure it still has the axle stub attached and that it is torqued up like it was on a 4wd car when you are done.
