Traction Control
86BRATMAN replied to WoodsWagon's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy wife had problems with my dad's 92 L wagon awd. She had the thinking that awd meant she needed to give it more gas when it started spinning. Ending her up in the ditch more than once.

The RS RX runs!
Could be. Never even thought about that. Might have to go measuring at the junk yard. I've been holding out on commiting to a customed d/s in hopes somebody would find one that is close. I've also niticed the 2dr impreza is close to the same wheel base as ea81(non hatch) and ea82 cars...

Its Alive!!!!!its Alive!!!!!(FIXED on page 2)
Pic in 5 minutes... Ok so it took more than 5 minutes... Its basically pulling air through the tube going to the air intake. It should open or close depending on how much air it needs to let in to keep the motor at idle speed. You may need to pull it off and clean it with some Intake Cleaner, similar to carb cleaner. And give it a try.

The RS RX runs!
IIRC the ea82 d/s is 55mm too long. wouldn't it be easier to get that shortened, if you don't get a donor car for the swap

allied armament: in or out?!?
If it makes you feel any better. My dad is not old to me and he's going to be 68 this year. I too remember the old talks and suck on here, though I didn't post up much at all, still in high school and not driving when I join on the original board, pre-.net days. The love is still here, just amy people have gone other ways in there lives. Its almost sad. But there are plenty of young people on here, including me at 24 who are keeping the subie ways alive. I'll be building an off roader later this year, when I get the Brat ej swap done and debugged.

What year ej you using?

Its time. Beyond the EA82T
Bad rump roast man. Sounds like it'll be worth a trip to GA when its done. Hopefully I can make the trip in the Brat and have a photo shoot:grin:

EJ22 Brat Swap, couple questions for those who have done it
IIRC its a 12 point 14mm socket. 12 point stuff is kinda hard to find these days, but they usually have them at advance auto. Thats where I got mine from. I went through about a month worth of searching for the "special subaru head bolt tool" before I actually realized what I needed.

Roll call!
And I hope one day mine will run!!!

EA81T + 4spd D/R Almost Complete
Main plug for the cluster is behind the cluster. The wiring going to that is under the kick panel on the driver's side. If you want I can look at my cluster and see which wire goes to the 4wd light, you can run a wire from the plug coming off the trans itself to it. As for the bracket, general disorder has done a 2wd to 4wd conversion, he could elaborate on the mounting. If you've got a cordless drill I would go to the junk yard and drill out the spot welds on one of the junkers and tack it into your wagon.

Metal thinkness
Just wondering how think (guage) the metal for the frame, floor boards, and body panels are on ea81 cars. I'm about to undertake what some say is futile, but I don't care. If you have the info or even an educated guess please post it up. I DO NOT want all the junk it and get another BS. Thanks.

Pointers on swapping D/R into a Loyale.
Yes you can shift into 4hi on the fly. It is not recommended to do that with 4lol but some people do it anyway.

Our 2000 Lagacy 'payoff' grrrrrr
86BRATMAN replied to mtsmiths's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXFight them hard. My insurance company tried real bad to screw me when I total my integra gsr about 2 years ago. It was about a two month process of arguing with agent(s). Also get some info on what its worth there where you live. Be firm, and think of this as negotiating for the price of a car, and you are the seller. You know what you want for it.

Anyone ever heard of CRS?
86BRATMAN replied to jeep5.9litre's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI usually associate CRS with "can't remember sh*t". Does it have anything like a city or state they are in. If it does a search on the net or call to the business licensing dept of that state would give some info. EDIT:: I see noe you posted both city and state. See my explanation of crs, I suffer badly.

Dealing with Subaru Obsession
I don't think we're dead. Our wives don't need a widows board. They need a section where they can go and talk about the whole "my husband/boyfriend soend more time with the subaru than me" type of stuff that they so lovingly endure.

Two Brats swapfest question
Not if I'm reading correctly. He's trans swapping between the two. Motors are staying in their respective brat.
-
Where do i start? yeah, you heard this one before...
obd 2 is anything 95 or newer. If you don't care for power accesories go for a awd brighton model. They came with the ej18, but that can be taken care of with a motor swap

New Subaru diesel

Two Brats swapfest question
The axles will be the same spline count. You'll have to do some cutting to the hole in the tunnel where the shifter and 4wd selector come through on the t-brat. And also make or transplant the mount bracket for the 4wd lever. You could use a drill to remove the spot welds for the manual brat's 4wd lever and tack weld it to the t-brat and make that step a lot simpler. I almost said something else, but considering its a 3at, I would have looked stupid:eek:

The RS RX runs!
Hmmm... Must have been caboobaru I was thinking of, either way other than "sounding like a tractor" it looks good.
